Objective I propose to edit a wikipedia page about deviances in sports, and there effects outside the athletic world.
Interest This is interesting because it will show the affects of athletes who dont conform to the rules in sports, and who also get into trouble off the playing field.
Background reading I will read wikipedia, text book and other basic sociology texts on the following topics: norms in the sports world, athletes off the field, and how deviance in sports translates into deviance in personal life.
General Plan I plan to research athletes who have been trouble both on and off the field, and show how deviance on the field could lead to deviance off the field.
Collaborators I will be working alone; or I will be working with Qu_Ba_Spring_2008
