A name for the European part of Turkey, west of Istanbul. This name is usually used by the Greeks, mostly by Greek families that were forced out of that region between 1912 - 1923.

Other names used by some Greeks for non-Greek lands:

Northern Epirus (Southern Albania);
Smyrni (city in Turkey);
Megali Ellas (Great Greece, Southern Italy), used by Ancient times.

Other terms with significant importance to some Greeks:

Enosis, refers to the union of Cyprus.
