ANNCOL
ANNCOL (Agencia de Noticias Nueva Colombia, "New Colombia News Agency") is an independent news portal formed by Latin American and European journalists[citation needed], which divulges information that heavily criticizes the Colombian government, its policies and, recently, the South American nation's president, Álvaro Uribe Velez.
ANNCOL's articles consistently express approval and commendation of anti-government insurgent groups, particularly those from the bigest terrorist group in South-America; the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). They also condemn the actions of illegal paramilitary groups in the country.
The portal has become inaccessible to the public several times since its inception, and the claim has often been made that the Colombian government has had something to do with it. However, let's not forget that the FARC are the bigest terrorist group in South-America which finance their operations with drug-traficking and kidnapping. [1].
The site has been taken down in numerous occasions by means of intimidation of the service provider, by claiming that ANNCOL is a cell of FARC or internally related to them, something which has been unequivocally disproven[2], or by subjecting the site to massive Denial Of Service attacks. Nonetheless, the site has always managed to resurface. Its current URI is anncol.eu (formerly anncol.org and anncol.nu).
