This is an old revision of this page, as edited by 72.229.48.178 (talk) at 05:51, 26 May 2008 (re-adding Dodo Bird Soldier. Please do not remove it again.). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

This is a list of fictional extraterrestrials (excluding the Saiyan race) who first appeared in Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga, followed by the anime series, including the Dragon Ball films.

Bojack

Bojack (ボージャック, Bōjakku) is a large, muscular extraterrestrial who plays the role of the main supervillain in Bojack Unbound. He somewhat resembles a gypsy-pirate, with blue-green skin, long orange hair and a long scar over his face. An increase to full-power brings about greater muscle mass, as well as alterations in color. Because of his ambition to rule the universe, Bojack was sealed inside a star by the Kaios, but released when North Kaio's planet was destroyed by Cell's suicide explosion. He travels to Earth with his henchmen to rid himself of any obstacles during a martial arts tournament, but is stopped by Son Gohan and his group. He was last seen among the rising dead in Fusion Reborn.

Bojack's henchmen

A group of pirate-esque lackeys who follow Bojack around in his universal pillaging.

Bido

The large mohawked member of Bojack's team, Bido works with Bujin by taking down the opponents that Bujin traps. Before he can kill Future Trunks, Vegeta blasts him through the roof, knocking down he and Bujin. He is punched in half by Gohan, unable to match him in Super Saiyan 2. His name has its root in the Japanese word hidō (非道), which means "unjust" and is often pronounced "bidō" when added to the end of words like gokuaku and zangyaku. Voiced by: Hisao Egawa (Japanese); Robert McCollum (English)

Bujin

Bujin is the shortest fighter of the group who uses a paralyzing attack to stop opponents in their tracks. Like Bido he is killed by the transformed Gohan, split in two by a kick through the waist. He later makes a cameo appearance in movie 12 but has no speaking lines. "Bujin" is rooted in the Japanese word bōjakubujin (傍若無人), which means "arrogance or audacity" and is the same word from which Bojack's name is derived. Voiced by: Hiroko Emori (Japanese); Christopher Bevins (English)

Gokua

Gokua wields a sword, and other than Bojack is the only team-member shown to transform. While it brings an increase in muscle mass (and a change in hair and skin color), it is not enough to upend Future Trunks in one-on-one battle. His name is derived from the Japanese word gokuaku (極悪), which means "heinous". He is not to be confused with the hero of Dragonball, Goku, hence why his name was changed to "Kogu" for the FUNimation Dub. Voiced by: Toshiyuki Morikawa (Japanese); Iman Nademzadeh (English)

Zangya

Zangya (ザンギャ, Zangya) is Bojack's only female underling. Despite defeating Kuririn, Bojack makes use of her as a shield to attack Super Saiyan 2 Gohan, killing her outright. She later makes a cameo appearance in the movie Fusion Reborn, resurrected from the dead through an afterlife mishap caused by Janemba. Zangya's name a pun of the last part of the word of lasagna.

Zangya has made appearances as a playable character in the fighting games Super Butoden 2 (released in Japan and French-speaking Europe only) and the second and third games of the Budokai Tenkaichi series. Voiced by: Tomoko Maruo (Japanese); Colleen Clinkenbeard (English)

Coola

Coola in his final form (above) and Metal Coola (below)

Coola (クウラ Kūra) is the main villain in the fifth and sixth movies of the anime Dragon Ball Z, introduced as the older brother of Freeza, and the oldest son of King Cold. His character was designed by Akira Toriyama, the original manga author, for Toei Doga's theatrical production. Like his brother, he can push his body through transformations to increase his power. Although only two forms are seen, it is stated in the fifth film that Coola possesses the same number of forms Freeza does, as well as a fifth and more powerful form.

He first travels to Earth in Cooler's Revenge to kill Goku, the saiyan that fought his brother. He ends up fighting Goku in his final form. Once transformed, he increases dramatically in size, speed, and strength; four horns grow to form a crown atop his head as spikes form on his forearms, and he now sports a facemask of sorts, hiding all facial features save his eyes, which are now red and pupiless. In the end, he is sent hurtling into the Sun by Super Saiyan Goku. Some of his remains merge with the Big Gete Star, allowing him to take control of it and create an indefinite amount of mechanical clones of himself that can constantly repair and improve upon themselves. Capable beyond his organic self, these Metal Coolas are a match for two Super Saiyans and now retain the ability of Shunkan Ido ("Instantaneous Movement"). Coola uses his newfound resources in a bid to absorb New Namek in Return of Cooler, but Goku and Vegeta destroy both him and the star in the end.

He later makes cameo appearances in Fusion Reborn and Dragon Ball GT, when all villains escape from Hell. He was swiftly killed by Vegeta and sent back along with his father; King Cold, Jheese, and Thousar.

Coola is the only DBZ villain besides Broli who appears in more than one film as a main villain.

King Cold

King Cold (コルド大王, Korudo Daiō) is the father of Freeza and Coola, appearing briefly at the start of the Trunks Saga along with his now cyber-organic son. While Freeza seeks to destroy Earth as revenge for his near-death by Goku's hands, his father cares only for eliminating those who oppose their clan's hold as "strongest in the universe". After Trunks shows up and easily dispatches Freeza, Cold offers Trunks the opportunity to take his son's place. His attempt at trickery against the mysterious youth fails, as once in possession of Trunks' sword Cold finds the Saiyan draws his power from elsewhere. His pleas for mercy fall on deaf ears as Trunks quickly finishes him off with a point blank ki blast to the face. (Note: In the manga, he is killed by the chest-shot).

King Cold later has a cameo appearance in the Great Saiyaman Saga when Goku and Paikuhan are sent to stop the riots in Hell; he was taken in one blow after Paikuhan defeated him with ease. He also appears alongside Freeza in Hell in which they are watching Goku fight Majin Boo. He is later seen flying out of hell along with Babidi, Ghurd, Kiwi, and ReaCoom in Dragon Ball GT.

Freeza's henchmen

Dodoria

Dodoria (ドドリア, Dodoria) is one of Freeza's top two henchmen; a large, pink alien with short spikes on his head and forearms. In Bardock: The Father of Goku, it was Dodoria who had Burdock's crew killed and easily defeated Burdock himself, leaving him for dead. He fails to confirm the dead body, however, and must apologize to his master for his negligence. He then traveled to Planet Namek with Freeza and Zarbon in search of the Dragon Balls. Once on the planet, Kuririn and Gohan interfered to save Dende from Dodoria, as he had already massacred a number of Namekians. He begins to pursue the three, only to encounter Vegeta. Outmatched, Dodoria pleads for mercy, telling Vegeta the truth about the destruction of Planet Vegeta, hoping it would aid in sparing his life. The plea fails as Vegeta slaughters him regardless.

In Dragon Ball GT, Dodoria would appear as one of the villains who escape from Hell during the Super 17 Saga.

Kiwi

Kiwi (キュイ, Kyui) was a high-ranking henchman of Freeza who used his superior rank and high power level to instill fear in those he felt were beneath him. He harbors a large amount of ill-will towards Vegeta, rubbing in his and the other Saiyans failure on Earth. After giving word that Freeza had learned of the Dragon Balls and was en route to Planet Namek, Kiwi follows Vegeta there with the intent to kill him on Freeza's order. Unfortunately for Kiwi, even after tricking him and then blasting him with a surprise attack, he is outmatched several times by his one-time rival, with Vegeta mocking his fighting ability and cowardice before blowing him up.

Kiwi was also noted to have been one of Freeza's most powerful henchmen, being surpassed only by Zarbon and Dodoria. He was also commandant of Freeza planet number 79. Kiwi would go on to make small appearances in filler episodes and be featured as an opponent and playable character in several Dragon Ball Z video games. According to one of Bun's flashbacks in the first episode of the Namek Saga, Kiwi was the one who was responsible for the death of his parents. Other members of his race were later seen in episode 97 during the Freeza Saga. Kiwi also appears in Dragon Ball GT and the Fusion Reborn movie, having escaped from Hell during the events of Janemba, but is defeated and sent back to Hell on both occasions along with a slew of other villains.

Zarbon

File:ZarbonForms.jpg
Zarbon in his first form (above) and Zarbon transformed (below)

Zarbon (ザーボン, Zābon) is Freeza's right-hand man and his most powerful henchman. He is a handsome warrior with light blue skin, long green braided hair and wears a tiara and earrings, giving him a more attractive look amongst Freeza's soldiers. Because of this, Zarbon thinks highly of himself and values things based on how attractive they are. Zarbon's power level is approximately 23,000 in his first form. Zarbon has the ability to transform himself into a powerful reptilian beast. The power level he has while transformed is over 30,000, increasing his strength and ferocity while also detracting from his looks. Because of this, he avoids transforming whenever possible. Also, when looking at his origin, beastly transformation, and his characteristics, he is a powerful dual dynamic of the beauty and the beast. He is, in character, the beauty and the beast personified. Zarbon accompanies Freeza to Planet Namek where he and Dodoria help Freeza to collect the Namekian dragonballs, slaughtering the helpless Namekian villagers along the way. After both Kiwi and Dodoria are killed by Vegeta, Zarbon is sent to search for more villages. Instead, a confrontation between Zarbon and Vegeta ensues, where he brutally overwhelms Vegeta, easily defeating him before bringing him back to Freeza's ship for interrogation. When Vegeta recovers and escapes, Freeza sends Zarbon to retrieve him, though Vegeta's increase in strength is too much even for his transformed state. In their second conflict, with Bulma and Kuririn watching the fight, Vegeta smashes his fist clean through Zarbon's stomach and shoots an energy blast right through his backside, cracking his backbone and sending him to a watery grave in the Namekian sea.

Zarbon made appearances in filler episodes of the Freeza Saga and was the one who advised Freeza to destroy Planet Vegeta in Bardock: Father of Goku. Zarbon returns twice, in Dragon Ball GT and the Fusion Reborn movie, but is defeated and sent back to hell on both occasions. In Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Zarbon appears in a "what-if" scenario where he allies himself with Goku and attempts to gain the Dragon Balls for himself and wish for eternal beauty. He eventually gets his wish, but ends up dying when Planet Namek explodes.

Freeza's soldiers

Appule

Appule is one of Freeza's henchmen on Namek whose mission was to help collect the Dragon Balls and report any sighting of Namekian villages. Later he is assigned to overseeing a healing Vegeta so he could be queried later, but things go wrong as Vegeta kills him as he escapes from the rejuvenation chamber. After his death he appears in Hell, to the side of Cell, Freeza and other past villains during some episodes of the Kid Boo Saga. Several other members of his species appeared in the Garlic Jr. Saga while Vegeta was looking for Goku in space. Vegeta easily wiped them all out. In Dragon Ball GT, Appule is seen flying out of Hell but is defeated and sent back.

Appule makes an appearance as a playable character in a video game for the first time in the Japanese and PAL Wii versions of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2. He later made a full appearance in all versions of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

Blueberry

An alligator-like henchmen of Freeza. He and his partner Raspberry kidnapped Bulma while hunting for the Namekian Dragon Balls on planet Namek. Freeza didn't bother to tell either of them what the balls could do, just that they needed to be found. After Bulma tells them, Blueberry decides that he and Raspberry should gather all the balls so they could rule the universe. Bulma tricked them by leading them to an underwater cave that was home to a giant crab. Earlier, she accidentally knocked a Dragon Ball into the Namekian sea and had to take her submarine to fight off the crab. While the crab fights Blueberry and Raspberry, Bulma escapes with the ball. But she gets an unexpected surprise when both henchmen rise out of the water. Before they can deal with her treachery, the crab, not finished with them yet, grabs them in its claws and pulls them back down.

His seiyu is Ken Yamaguchi. Blueberry was voiced by Mark Oliver in the original Ocean dub. In the FUNimation Dub, he was voiced by Kyle Hebert in episode 59. In episode 60 of the FUNimation dub, he was voiced by Markus Lloyd.

Bund and Vug

Bund and Vug are two soldiers from Freeza's army, the first that Bulma, Kuririn and Gohan meet in the Namek Saga when they arrived on Namek. They were sent out by Zarbon to find the source of the two unknown power readings (Gohan and Kuririn) and kill them, with Freeza fearing that they might stand in his way of gathering the Dragon Balls. To prevent them from escaping, they destroyed Kami's spaceship, but Kuririn and Gohan killed them shortly after this.

Bund has blue skin, long pointed ears, horns, yellow hair with a beard, and wears a blue Scouter. Vug has purple skin, a fin on his head, and uses a ray gun connected to his red Scouter via a wire that can shot beams. They appear as standard enemies in the game Dragon Ball Z: Goku Gekitōden, where Bund is a little stronger than Vug. Vug mainly attacks with beams, and Bund fights with punches and kicks.

The Freeza Soldier from the games Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 resembles Bund, possibly being from the same race, but he is based on one of the henchmen Burdock fought his way past in outer space in Bardock - The Father of Goku. A soldier similar to Vug also appears in the special.

In the original Japanese version, they were voiced by Daisuke Gori and Hitoshi Bifu, in the Ocean dub by Scott McNeil and Mark Oliver, and in the FUNimation version by Merk Harbour and Troy Williams.

Buzzard Soldier

In the Garlic Junior Saga, Vegeta ruthlessly slaughtered some of Freeza's men on a distant planet in search of Kakarot / Goku. When this Buzzard Soldier, the last surviving soldier, who happened to look a lot like Malaka, a species of bird only much thinner, wondered why Freeza would order Vegeta to do something like that to his race. Vegeta interrogated this soldier, hoping to get some answers on Goku / Kakarot's whereabouts. The soldier had never met or heard of Goku / Kakarot, said he knew nothing. Vegeta than went on to explain about how Kakarot / Goku was the one who killed Freeza and that Vegeta had left Freeza's ranks. The soldier was shocked and angered at this, thinking that the Saiyan prince was lying. He tried to shoot him with his ray gun. In reciprocation, Vegeta grabbed and crushed the gun in front of his face before he even had a chance to fire and Vegeta then blew his face up with a ki beam.

His seiyu was Kazumi Tanaka. In the Ocean Group dub, he is voiced by Terry Klassen. While in the FUNimation dub, he is voiced by Chuck Huber.

Humanoid Captain

He appears in episode 119 of Dragon Ball Z in an anime only flashback. This captain is of the same race as Namole except he has light purple hair. While King Cold was looking for his son in the ruins of the original planet Namek, the captain made a comment about how he doubted Freeza's survival. King Cold became cross at the captain and broke the glass dome of his ship. The captain blew out into space along with several other warriors and was never seen again.

This captain was voiced by Fumihiko Tachiki in the Japanese version, by Dale Kelly in the FUNimation dub, and by Doc Harris in the Ocean version.

Cowardly Captain

This soldier traveled to Earth with Freeza and King Cold to get revenge on Goku. He has large extended yellow hair and a white beard. When Future Trunks interfered, this soldier and all the other warriors charged forward in order to kill Trunks. Trunks easily kills all of them except for this individual. His hair is sliced into a mohawk and his beard is cut into a moustache, along with his armor being sliced into pieces. He does not last long afterwards, however, as he walks backward in fear only to have Freeza kill him from being for being a coward.

He is voiced by Ken Yamaguchi in the original Japanese, by Chris Sabat in the FUNimation verison, and by Michael Kopsa in the Ocean dub.

Commander

He's from the same race as Kiwi and he only appears in the anime in DBZ episode 97. His facial appearance and and armor are similar to Kiwi with the exception of him wearing a cape over his armor. His loyalty to Freeza is strong as shown when he killed another of his own race when that soldier insulted Freeza and took him for dead in front of Malaka and the other warriors. He monitored the battle between Freeza and Goku along with Malaka. However, when they tried to read Goku's power level, the machine overloaded and the commander died in the explosion along with the rest of the soldiers; with Malaka being the only survivor.

He was voiced by Masato Hirano in the original Japanese version. In the FUNimation dub, he was voiced by Mark Britten in the original dub and in the re-mastered season three box set by Bill Townsley. Jason Gray-Stanford voiced him in the Ocean Group dub.

Dodo Bird Soldier

In the Garlic Junior Saga, Vegeta ruthlessly slaughtered some of Freeza's men on a distant planet in search of Kakarot/Goku. When the Dodo Bird Soldier, the last surviving soldier, who happened to look a lot like Malaka, a species of bird only much thinner, wondered why Freeza would order Vegeta to do something like that to his race. Vegeta interrogated this soldier, hoping to get some answers on Goku's whereabouts. The soldier had never met or heard of Goku, said he knew nothing. Vegeta than went on to explain about how Goku was the one who killed Freeza and that Vegeta had left Freeza's ranks.

Dodoria's Elite

Appearing only in the Burdock special, they are four elites of Dodoria. The leader of the group has orangish flesh colored skin, brown hair, and horns. Another was an octopus-like alien and from the same alien race as Appule and Orin. Another was a frog-like alien with a red headcrest. And yet another was fish-like and the same alien race as the Slug Soldiers. Considered elite amongst the rank and file, they accompany Dodoria to Planet Meat to assist him in killing Burdock's crew. All four thought that because they had easily beaten Burdock's friends with Dodoria's help, they could take out Burdock without much difficulty. They were mistaken, and after a lengthy struggle, Burdock managed to kill all four of them. The first one to perish fired several ki blasts at Burdcok, only to have his skull caved in. Another was killed when Burdock used him as a human shield against a ki blast intended for the Saiyan. One held Burdock while the leader of the group rapidly punched when the Saiyan was distracted by future visions. When Burdock snapped out of it, he twisted the elite who was holding him and the leader accidently punched a hole through his own men's stomach. Burdock than blew them both up with a large ki blast.

They were voiced by Kyle Hebert, Ceyli Delgadillo, Bart Myer, and Dameon Clarke in the FUNimation dub. In the original Japanese version, they were voiced by Daiki Nakamura, Hitoshi Bifu, Daisuke Gori, and Yuji Machi.

Foot Soldier

He is referred to as "Foot Soldier" by Freeza in episode 120 of Dragon Ball Z. He has green skin and has a fin on the top of his head. During Future Trunks' fight with Freeza at the start of the Trunks arc, the Foot Soldier was ordered by Freeza to kill him. His scouter said that the boy's power level was a mere 5. He called Trunks a fool because of his low power reading and shot at him with his ray gun. Trunks easily deflected all of the Foot Soldier's blasts and killed him with a single uppercut. Trunks killed all the other soldiers shortly after.

The Foot Soldier is voiced by Kinpei Azusa in the original Japanese version and by Christopher Sabat in the Funimation dub. In the ocean version, he is voiced by Paul Dobson.

Freeza Soldier

Freeza Soldier is a generic soldier from Freeza's army that appears in the Japanese / PAL Wii versions of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and all versions of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. He has bluish-purple skin, long pointed ears, horns, and light purple hair with a beard.

His appearance is based on one of the henchmen that Burdock fought his way past in outer space in Bardock - The Father of Goku, and Bund; a similar soldier (possibly from the same race) that attacked Kami's spaceship in the Namek Saga.

The Freeza Soldier's second costume is based in the other soldier that was holding Burdock when Freeza appeared in front of them.

He is voiced in the original Japanese version by Hisao Egawa. Freeza Soldier is voiced by John Burgmeier in the Funimation version and by Mark Oliver in the Ocean Group dub.

Frog-Face

Referred to only as Frog-Face by Freeza, this short soldier resembles a Dilophosaurus. He carries a dragon ball and hands it to Dodoria during their pillaging and robbing of Namekian villages. Frog-Face is caught up in the chaotic battle between three Namekians who try to stand up to Freeza's soldiers and is killed by a ricochet blast, getting shocked to death.

He was voiced in the original Japanese version by Hitoshi Bifu and in the Ocean version by Scott McNeil. His FUNimation voice actor is Mike McFarland.

Horned Soldier

He appeared in episode 47 during the Namek Saga. He had light-purple skin, small horns and orange hair. During the raid on Moori's village, he mocked the three warriors who arrived to save it because his scouter read their power levels were all at 1,000 each. While his top power level was at 2,500. He than charged along with all the other soldiers in order to kill them. However, the minor soldiers realized too late that the Namekian's true top battle power was actually 3,000. The horned soldier was quickly killed when one of the warrior-type Namekians kicked him into a cliff.

He is voiced by Yukimasa Kishino in the original Japanese version and by Paul Dobson in the Ocean Group dub. In the FUNimation re-dub, he is voiced by Kyle Hebert.

Goose

He is Dilophosaurus-like in appearance and one of the four soldiers of Freeza who tried out for the Ginyu Special Corps. He appears in the anime only. Goose is then killed by Commander Ginyu after he declares the try-out over.

His voice was supplied by Sonny Strait in the FUNimation dub. His seiyu was Kozo Shioya.

Malaka

Malaka is a brown-skinned, dinosaur-like alien with an orange Mohawk. He is the chief doctor of Planet Freeza No. 79 and he is mostly seen monitoring injured warriors as they heal in the rejuvenation chamber. He was in-charge of healing Vegeta in the early episodes of the Namek Saga after his defeat on Earth. He later re-appears in the Freeza Saga in episode 97 in a filler scene monitoring the battle between Super Saiyan Goku and Freeza. Out of all the soldiers that were caught in the explosion, he was the sole survivor. His final appearance in the series is in a filler flashback during the Trunks Saga where he was seen monitoring Freeza in the rejuvenation tank as well as helping other scientists construct Freeza's new mechanical body. He appeared in the Burdock Special when Kakarot / Goku was born in the introduction. He was also in charge of healing Burdock's wounds, and was surprised that the scanners showed that Burdock's power reading was over 10,000. Ironically, he was on Planet Vegeta when Freeza destroyed it, supposedly killing him. However, this is inconsistent with the fact that he appeared in later episodes. Unlike other soldiers in Freeza's army, he is not very violent and is quite polite when around Saiyans such as Vegeta and Burdock.

Malaka was voiced in the original Japanese version by the late Kazumi Tanaka. He is voiced by Scott McNeil in the Ocean Dub. In the original FUNimation dub, his voice was done by Mark Britten. Chris Cason currently does his voice in the re-mastered uncut dub.

Namole

Namole is a humanoid ailen who only appears in the anime. After Vegeta defeated Zarbon, he timidly delivered the news that the Ginyu Special Corps. were arriving soon. Freeza stated that he no longer had any use for cowardly men like Namole and blasted him to death, destroying him without a second thought.

Namole's seiyu is Hitoshi Bifu, and he was voiced by Kent Williams in the FUNimation dub. In the Ocean dub, he was voiced by Ward Perry.

Oggers

Oggers is a short, orange ailen who appears in the anime only. He is similar in appearance to Ghurd though since he doesn't have four eyes he is obviously of a different race. Oggers was one of the four soldiers who tried out for the Ginyu Special Corps. When Ginyu grew tired of this and declared the try-out over, he killed Oggers along with all the other men.

He was voiced by Sonny Strait in the FUNimation version. His seiyu was Kenji Utsumi.

Orin

Another one of Freeza's henchmen on Namek, Orin is likely of the same species as Appule except he is orange with large fangs and red eyes. Orin is the one who finds the Namekian village that Vegeta had attacked for its Dragon Ball. He interrogates the sole survivor, and learns that it was Vegeta’s doing. Orin then kills the dying Namekian and returns to Freeza’s ship to report. He lets it slip he killed the survivor without first asking where Vegeta may have hidden the Dragon Ball, which angers Freeza. He then kills Orin without a second thought, zapping him with ki beams from his eyes. Strangely enough, he was not resurrected apparently when Shen Long and the Earth Dragon Balls were used to resurrect all who Freeza had killed on Namek. He later appears in hell alongside Appule and other past villains and the oni, watching the fight between Goku and Kid Boo.

Note that Orin only appears in the anime. In the manga, it is Appule who discovers the village Vegeta destroyed, and upon returning to report Freeza does not kill him but orders him to summon the Ginyu Special Corps.

Planthorr

A scientist alongside Malaka who guards the newly born Saiyans. He notes that Kakarot is especially powerful for a young Saiyan. Ironically, he was on planet Vegeta when Freeza destroyed it, undoubtingly killing him. Like Malaka, he is not as violent as other soliders in Freeza's army and actually shows some kindness towards Saiyans such as Burdock and Toma. This trait is hardly shared by any members of Freeza's army.

He was voiced by Justin Cook in the FUNimation dub.

Raspberry

A humanoid-like henchmen of Freeza. He and his partner Blueberry kidnapped Bulma while hunting for the Namekian Dragon Balls on planet Namek. Freeza didn't bother to tell either of them what the balls could do, just that they needed to be found. After Bulma tells them, Raspberry decides that he and Blueberry should gather all the balls so they could rule the universe.

He is voiced in the original Japanese version by Seiji Sato. Raspberry was voiced by Doug Parker in the original Ocean dub. In the Funimation re-dub, he was voiced in episode 59 by Chris Cason and in episode 60 by Doug Burks.

Strock

He is one of the four henchmen of Freeza who tried out for the Ginyu Special Corps. Strock is of the same race as the Freeza Soldier in the Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi series and Bund. He is an anime exclusive character. Ginyu later kills him and all the other men after he brings the try-out to an end.

Strock is voiced by Kyle Hebert in the FUNimation dub. His seiyu was the long deceased Koji Totani.

Strong

Strong is of the same race as Raspberry except he has dark skin. He appears in the anime only. Strong was one of the four men who tried out for the Ginyu Special Corps. Unfortunately, he messed up while posing and was knocked into the sky by Commander Ginyu. In the dub, the reason for Ginyu killing Strong was changed into him being a Captain like Ginyu. As Ginyu knocks him away, he yells "There's only one Captain on the Ginyu Force; and that's me!"

Strong was voiced by Justin Pate in the Funimation dub. His seiyu was Yukimasa Kishino.

Ginyu Special Corps

File:Ginyu Group.jpg
The Ginyu Special Corps. Left to right: ReaCoom (top left), Ghurd, Jheese, Butta (top right), and Commander Ginyu

A team of super-elite and powerful mercenary mutants, the Ginyu Special Corps (ギニュー特戦隊, Ginyū Tokusentai) is called upon by Freeza to assist in the defeat of Vegeta and obtainment of the Dragon Balls on Planet Namek during the course of the Freeza Saga in an attempt to regroup from Zarbon and Dodoria's previous failure. Though physically some of the very strongest in the universe, the Ginyu Special Corps' members delight in coming up with strange poses, betting candy on fights, and playing Janken to decide the order they should fight. All of their names are based upon dairy products.

Commander Ginyu

Commander Ginyu (ギニュー隊長, Ginyū Taichō) is the flamboyant commander of the Ginyu Special Corps, and the strongest member on the team. He is purple and has veins on his head and horns that resembles Freeza's first form. His highest power level, which is said by Jheese, is 120,000. He knows and uses a unique technique in the series, the ability to switch bodies with others. He fights with Goku after giving the Dragon Balls to Freeza only to be overwhelmed by his power. He uses his ability to switch bodies, but is unable to use Goku's strength to the fullest, levelling out at 23,000. After being battered by Gohan, Kuririn, and Vegeta, he tries to switch with Vegeta twice. The first time Goku in Ginyu's body jumps in the way, and the second time the injured Goku throws a Namekian frog in his way. He accidentally and forever changes bodies with a frog. Unable to speak, he can not transfer into a new body. He was later transported to Earth along with everyone else when Dende asked Porunga to transport everyone but Goku and Freeza there. Afterwards, he is supposed to live with normal earth-frogs in the frog pond at the Capsule Corp. He also makes a cameo appearance in the final episode of the Great Saiyaman Arc, being picked up by Gohan after Sharpner tries to unmask him as the Great Saiyaman. Commander Ginyu makes his final appearance in Dragon Ball Z in Hell, with his body intact. He is seen with the other Z villains watching Goku in the final battle with Boo. He cameoes later in Dragon Ball GT in front of Lord Emma's desk in Hell after being defeated once more and as a frog again in Fusion Reborn.

In the anime only, while in the frog's body on Namek, Ginyu comes across and befriends Bulma, who uses a device to translate his croaking into speech, although he betrays Bulma and uses the opportunity to switch bodies with her. In his new body, he travels on Bulma's bike to the area where Goku and Freeza are fighting, watched by Piccolo, Kuririn and Gohan, unaware that Bulma, in the frog's body, is following him. He tries to attack the trio, but then decides to switch bodies with Piccolo, although Gohan throws the frog in the way of the beam at the last minute and reverts Ginyu back to frog form and Bulma to her own body. A later blast from Freeza sends Ginyu and Bulma away from the battlefield.

Butta

Butta (バータ, Bāta) is the tallest member of the team. He is a blue-skinned alien nicknamed "The Blue Hurricane" who fancies himself the fastest person in the universe. And indeed he has incredible speed that he demonstrates by swiftly retrieving a Dragon Ball thrown by Vegeta in an effort to prevent it from falling into Freeza's hands. It is said by Kuririn that both Butta and Jheese are as strong as ReaCoom. Along with Jheese, Butta sits out the fighting until Goku arrives and defeats ReaCoom singlehandedly. Butta and Jheese jump in to attack Goku, but the Earth Saiyan proves both faster than Butta (much to his fury) and stronger than both of them. He then defeats Butta with two crippling blows to the back, and shortly thereafter, Vegeta finishes Butta off by dropping a knee on and breaking Butta's neck. He and Jheese fought Tenshinhan when they tried to invade North Kaio's planet in a filler episode, only to be defeated. He was once again defeated later by Goku at the start of the Great Saiyaman arc when he, along with Cell, Freeza, King Cold, and the other Ginyus were torturing the oni, including Goz and Mez, into telling them a way out of hell. Butta also watched the battle between Goku and Kid Boo. In DragonBall Z Movie 12 as a cameo appearance, he returns from Hell and is summoned by Freeza to destroy Gohan. In GT, Butta returns from Hell but is killed by Tenshinhan along with Kiwi and Ginyu.

Ghurd

Ghurd (グルド, Gurudo) is the smallest and least powerful member of the team physically. Though clearly the weakest member of the group, Ghurd possesses some psychic abilities, including being able to stop time (for as long as he can hold his breath) and telekinesis. He fights Gohan and Kuririn, and nearly kills them before being decapitated then blown up by Vegeta (Note: In the Manga, Vegeta used a side-chop while in the Anime, Vegeta used a ki blast). In the anime, he fought Chaozu on North Kaio's planet but was quickly defeated, before later making cameos in other filler episodes in a non-speaking role. Ghurd is a short, fat, frog-like creature with four eyes. Also, in the anime only, Ghurd has a flashback that shows that he heavily loathes Vegeta after the Saiyan Prince insulted Ghurd by telling him he suffered from bad breath. He was about to strike when Freeza interfered, asking Vegeta to help him conquer a planet and disgracing Ghurd, forcing him to keep a grudge against Vegeta. He, the other Ginyu Corps. members, Freeza, Cell, and King Cold also tortured the oni into telling them to get out of Hell. Goku still defeats him and the other members of the Ginyu Special Corps. with one blow each. Ghurd is also seen watching the final battle with Kid Boo. In the manga, Ghurd is the only Ginyu Special Corps. member not to have met Goku. In Dragon Ball GT, Ghurd is seen flying out of hell along with ReaCoom, King Cold, Kiwi, and Babidi. He is killed along with ReaCoom by Trunks.

Jheese

Jheese (ジース, Jīsu) is an extremely flamboyant and showy (often portrayed as the rookie of the Ginyu Special Corps) white-haired mutant (as Ginyu stated) who appears human apart from his red skin. According to Kuririn, he and Butta are about equal in strength to Reacoom. Nicknamed the "Red Magma", he often pairs with Butta for combination attacks. As his team-mates fall to Goku, Jheese retreats to Ginyu's side for reinforcements. Jheese is still clearly outclassed, however, and is singled-out and killed by Vegeta.

In filler episodes, he fought Tenshinhan along with Butta when they attempted to conquer North Kaio's Planet. They were both knocked into Hell's bloodpond by Tenshinhan. Jheese and the other Ginyu Special Corps. members later joined Freeza, King Cold, and Cell while they were torturing the Oni into telling them a way out of Hell. When Goku and Paikuhan arrive, Jheese is easily defeated with one blow to the stomach by Goku. His final appearance in series was him and the other Ginyu members watching the final battle with Kid Boo in the Kid Boo arc. He also makes a cameo in movie 12 along with ReaCoom and Butta. However, he is found running away, bumping into Videl after Freeza is destroyed by Gohan. In GT, Jheese returns from Hell but is killed by Vegeta along with Thousar, Coola, and King Cold.

ReaCoom

ReaCoom (リクーム, Rikūmu) is a large, muscular human-like man of an unconfirmed race with red hair. He is the most flamboyant member of the Ginyu Special Corps, seen striking poses more often in battle than Commander Ginyu himself, and generally behaving in a deceptively goofy manner. ReaCoom is a sadistic fighter though, and enjoys toying with his opponents and egging them on with taunts before killing them. Though fought with great difficulty by Gohan, Kuririn, and Vegeta, ReaCoom is overcome by Goku with one hit. Later, after Vegeta kills Butta, he also kills ReaCoom, completely destroying his body with a huge ki blast (Later in episode 97 during the Freeza Saga when Gohan is carrying Piccolo to Goku's ship, an animation mistake results ReaCoom's body being visible on the battle field). ReaCoom would then fight Yamucha in filler episodes and lose to him. He, Butta, Jheese, Ghurd, Freeza, King Cold, and Cell torture the oni into telling them a way out of hell at the start of the Great Saiyaman arc and is easily beaten by Goku again. ReaCoom is also seen waching Goku fight Kid Boo with other past villains in the Kid Boo arc. ReaCoom would be seen among the other villains coming back from Hell in the twelve Dragon Ball Z movie and Dragon Ball GT. In GT, Trunks kills him along with Ghurd.

Coola's Armored Squadron

Doore

A green-skinned brutish henchman of Cooler. Doore is one of Cooler's armored squadron. He was a former wrestler in a Pro-Wrestling league where he killed all of his opponents in the ring. He is extremely tough due to coming from a planet of Magma. Doore is killed by Piccolo when trying to evade a heat-seeking blast. He was voiced by Mike McFarland in the Funimation version. Masaharu Satou is his seiyu.

Naise

(English Name: Neiz)

A long-necked brown-skinned, big-eyed henchman of Cooler. He is one of Cooler's armored squadron. He prides himself on his speed, which is similar to Butta of the Ginyu Special Corps., and can create an electric charge from his body. After trying to electrocute Piccolo, he is fried to death after Piccolo deflects the shock right back at him. Bill Townsley voiced him in the dub. His seiyu is Masato Hirano.

Thousar

(English Name: Salza)

Thousar is Coola's top henchman and leader of Cooler's armored squadron. Thousar is exceptionally handsome and is modeled somewhat similar to Zarbon. He has a special maneuver called the Sauzer Blade, which is a forcefield similar to that of a lightsaber from the Star Wars franchise. Thousar is also from the same planetary system as Jheese and he fought with Commander Ginyu for leadership of the Armored Squadron in which Thousar won. After attacking Piccolo and failing to defeat him, Thousar is slammed into the mountains nearby when Goku becomes enraged and prepares to battle Coola. However, after Coola is defeated, Thousar stands back up from the rubble, ready to exterminate what remained of the battle-weary Goku, Gohan, and Kuririn. Unfortunately for him, Piccolo shot a special beam cannon right through him, killing him. He later returns in movie 12 and GT only to be defeated once again. In the dubbed version of the movie, he was voiced by Michael Marco and in the English versions of the video games he was voiced by Christopher R. Sabat. In the original Japanese version, he is voiced by Sho Hayami.

Namekians

Cargo

Cargo (カルゴ, Karugo) is the younger brother of Dende. He is killed in the manga by Freeza, but his murderer is changed to Dodoria in the anime. He is later revived by the Dragon Balls.

Dende

Kami

Moori

Moori (ムーリ, Mūri) (sometimes spelled "Muri") is the elder of the Namekian village that Kuririn and Gohan first saw Freeza attacking. His fighting power isn't high, but he is very clever. He manages to destroy all of Freeza's scouters. This causes Freeza's collection of the Dragon Balls to be seriously delayed. Freeza later orders Moori to be slain along with his younger brothers Dende and Cargo. It was revealed by Dende that all the current Namekians on the planet Namek are the direct children of Saichoro, and thus are all brothers. Dodoria carries out Freeza's order, and breaks Moori's neck with his bare hands.

Moori is included in the wish to bring back those killed by Freeza and his men. Shortly before Saichoro dies again, he names Moori as the new Grand Elder, saying that the Dragon Balls will shine again. Moori and his people eventually travel to a new planet similar to Namek with the help of the Dragon Balls. Moori appears again in the Majin Boo Saga, when the Namekian Dragon Balls are needed to solve the Boo crisis. It is revealed that because of Freeza's past attack on Namek, that Moori has powered up Namek's dragon Porunga — giving Porunga the ability to bring multiple people back to life with one wish.

Lord Slug

Lord Slug (スラッグ, Suraggu) is the main antagonist of the fourth DBZ movie, Lord Slug. He was one of the ancient Namekians who discovered the key to unlocking a higher consciousness within. Known as Super Nameks, they soon became intoxicated by their new power and began to misuse it. With the power of the Dragon Balls, the people of Planet Namek were able to banish the Super Nameks from their planet for good, but the tyrannical Lord Slug continued conquering planets until he reached Earth where he used the Dragon Balls to restore his lost youth. Another part of his plan was to freeze the planet to make it a home for his soldiers, but in the end he was killed by Son Goku. It's interesting to note that in the Japanese version of Movie 4, Lord Slug doesn't tell people that he's a Namekian, and possibly doesn't even know. The back-story about Slug being a Super Namekian is added into the multiple language dubs, and isn't in the Japanese version. Lord Slug is also a playable character in both his Youth and Giant Super Namek forms in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3.

Nail

Nail (ネイル, Neiru) is a Namekian who looks exactly like Piccolo, apart from the attire. He is described as the last fighter-class Namekian left. He is the personal bodyguard to Saichoro, and was the strongest Namekian left on the planet. His maximum fighting power is 42,000, as mentioned by Freeza using his scouter.

During the Freeza Saga, Nail had to stall Freeza by himself in order to prevent him from obtaining the Dragon Balls and possibly killing him and Saichoro. Nail was no match for the tyrant, and even lost an arm (which he regenerated using Sai Sei) during the battle. Before Freeza could finish Nail off, Nail revealed that this fight was to delay Freeza so Dende could get the Namek Dragon Ball's password to the Earthlings, Kuririn and Son Gohan. An enraged Freeza immediately left Nail for dead.

Shortly afterwards a newly resurrected Piccolo arrives and finds the disabled Namek. Nail is still able to speak, and asks Piccolo to fuse with him in order to increase his chances against Freeza, and at the same time save his life. Piccolo agrees after some questioning of Nail's motives, and indeed his power level increases dramatically, allowing him to stand toe to toe with Freeza's second form. However, this advantage quickly disappears when Freeza transforms again. Still later, Dende learns that Piccolo and Nail have fused, and Piccolo is shown to still have elements of Nail's personality within him, as shown by his distress when Saichoro reveals that he is dying. At one point during the fight with Freeza, Nail communicates directly with his enemy, in a split personality-style relationship with Piccolo. However, this only occurs once, and in later "appearances" of Nail, his voice simply underlies Piccolo's.

Piccolo

Piccolo is Goku's final antagonist in Dragonball. He later joins forces with Goku in Dragonball Z. He fuses with Nail, and later, Kami during the series.

Saichoro

Saichoro (最長老, Saichōrō) (saichō-rō "longest aged" or "eldest") is the oldest and wisest remaining Namek in existence and the 1 of the 2 survivors of a cataclysmic climate shift several hundred years prior to the events in the series (The other being Kami-sama, who later split into himself and Piccolo Daimao). All current Nameks alive on the planet are descended from him. (It was revealed that he had at least 108 children, though some may not have still been alive at the time of the Freeza Saga. Piccolo / Kami are descended from a Namek that died in the cataclysm: Katatsu.) He was also in control of the Dragonballs of Planet Namek (though he may not have created them). He had many powers similar to that of Kami on Earth, but it is never stated whether he was the local Kami of Namek. When he eventually dies, the Dragon Balls become solid stone. When Freeza, Zarbon, and Dodoria pillage and slaughter the Namekians in search for the dragonballs and the Ginyu Force arrives, Guru is forced to join with Earth's fighters in order to combat the threat of Freeza. Saichoro died a peaceful death once all the Namekians were transported from Namek to Earth. Shortly before his death, Saichoro passed the title of Grand Elder down to Moori.

Warrior-Type Namekians

These three Namekians only appear in the Anime in episode 70 during the Captain Ginyu arc. According to Freeza, all three of them have a top power level of 10,000 each. Despite Nail's protests, the warriors refuse to listen to his warnings and attack the evil tyrant. Freeza kills two of them with little effort, but he keeps one alive. He asks the remaining warrior what the password to activating the Dragon Balls is. When the warrior refuses to tell him anything, Freeza drops him and fires a beam at him. Nail tries to save him, but the beam hits the warrior just as Nail reached him. They were later revived by the Dragon Balls.

They were voiced in the original version by Daisuke Gori, Kappei Yamaguchi, and Shozo Iizuka. In the Ocean Group dub, they are done by Richard Cox, Michael Dobson, and Jason Gray-Stanford. In the FUNimation version, their voices were supplied by Gorden Holey, Brandon Potter, and Mark Lancaster.

Young Namekians

These three young Namekians are warrior-types like Nail. They appear in episode 47 during the Namek arc to protect Moori's village from Freeza's men. The leader wairs a white cape around his neck, another wears a purple tunic and the third one has an orange vest. The minor soldiers laugh at their power readings of 1,000. However, they realize too late that their true battle powers are at 3,000 each. The warriors quickly kill all the minor henchmen (except Appule and Orin). However, after Moori destroys the remaining scouters, Dodoria becomes enraged at the Namekians and is ordered by Freeza to kill the three warrior-type Namekians. Dodoria murders the Namekian with the white cape by using his sharp nails to smash a hole through his stomach. The one in the purple tunic charges at Dodoria but the he stuns him with a sharp elbow-jab to the stomach and blows him up with a mouth blast. The Namekian in the orange vest manages to dodge most of Dodoria's attacks and fires a large ki blast at him. However, Dodoria isn't even wounded from the blast and kills him by ramming him into a cliffside with his spiky skull. They are later revived in the Freeza arc when Mr. Popo wishes for everyone that was killed by Freeza and his men back to life.

They were voiced in the original Japanese by Hiroyuki Satou, Yuji Machi, and Hikaru Midorikawa. In the Ocean Group dub, they were voiced by Ted Cole, Scott McNeil, and Brian Dobson. In the FUNimation dub, they were vocied by Travis Williams, John Burgmeier, and Christopher R. Sabat.

Tsufurujin

  • English-language dubs: Tuffles, Tsufuls (Canadian dub)
  • Name pun: Fruit (anagram, furutsu) or in the English dub possibly Truffles

Long ago, this race lived peacefully on their planet called Planet Plant. They possessed a very advanced civilization, and lived in high-tech cities across the planet. Their neighbors, the Saiyans, were a rugged race of barbarians who resided in the wastelands. The two native races of the planet lived side-by-side until the Saiyans decided to attack. The Saiyans declared war on the Tsufurujin, and although the Saiyans were physically much stronger, the Tsufurujin technology meant they had the upper hand in the war, until the full moon came up, an event that only happens on the planet once every 100 years. The Saiyans' ability to transform into Oozaru whenever they are exposed to moonlight makes them ten times more powerful, and allowed them to easily defeat the Tsufurujin. They took over the planet and renamed it Vegeta, after their king.

Baby

Machine Mutant

A new type of Artificial Human, introduced in Dragon Ball GT. They appear to be the creations of Dr. Myu, a Machine Mutant himself. Machine Mutants (and Machine Mutant technology in general) are fully mechanical beings with organic properties; they can mold, contort, and reshape like organic lifeforms. Although low-class Machine Mutants tend to appear completely mechanical, upper-class Machine Mutants, such as General Rilld, display these morphing capabilities.

Dr. Myu

Dr. Myu (ミュー, Dr. Myū) is a brilliant scientist who desires nothing more than total control of the galaxy. Dr. Myu masterminds the plot to build an ultimate machine mutant with enough power to see his sinister goal of control through to the end. To this end, he created a powerful enforcer named General Rilld, and tried to gather the Black Star Dragon Balls to use them to complete his creation, Baby, and use it to take over the universe. However, Goku, Pan, and Trunks got past Rilld and foiled Myu's plans. Dr. Myu escaped, but was killed when Baby burst out of his body. It was revealed then that Baby was actually the one that programmed Dr. Myu, and not the other way around.

Dr. Myu later joins forces with Dr. Gero in Dragon Ball GT and creates another 17, who controls the original #17 (who is still on Earth) and converges their powers together to set a rift between Earth and Hell. Hell's 17 and the two scientists escape, following which the two 17s eventually fuse together to become Super 17. Super 17 betrays and kills Gero thanks to Myu's programming changes, then goes on to dominate the Z Fighters (including Super Saiyan 4 Goku thanks to his absorption field ability). Dr. Myu truly believes he can take over the universe, until Artificial Human 18 shows up and gets in his head by appealing to his sense of self.

Myu, in anger at 18's apparent influence, orders Super 17 to destroy Goku and 18 with his Electro Eclipse Bomb attack so as to show them "who he really is" and that he "can't be manipulated or controlled". However, 17 turns on Myu, the very man who had been using him the entire time, and destroys him with the attack.

Gear

Gear (ギル, Giru) is a Machine Mutant that accompanies Son Goku, Pan, and Trunks on their quest to find the Black Star Dragon Balls. His true name is G2006. The three first met him on a desert planet, while he was on the brink of death. After eating the Dragon Radar for energy, he tried to escape from them, but was ultimately caught by Goku. After that, they found out that the radar intergraded into his software. Upon arriving on the planet, M2, he seemingly betrays his friends, though it is later revealed he was in league with Trunks to reveal Myu's ultimate secret: Baby. The plan works, and Gear and Trunks successfully rescue Goku and Pan as well. Gear then becomes part of the Black-Star Dragon Ball team again. In the series, Gear keeps getting destroyed but is later fixed by Trunks.

General Rilld

General Rilld (リルド, Rirudo) is a machine mutant created by Doctor Myu in charge of security on his planet. When Goku, Pan, and Trunks arrive on the planet in search of the Black Star Dragon Balls, Rilld sends the Sigma Force to capture them. The Sigma Force are defeated by Goku and Trunks, leaving Rilld to take care of the two by himself. Using his special beam that transmutes any object into metal, Rilld captures Trunks, but is still defeated by Goku. After combining with the remaining scraps of the Sigma Force, Rilld powers up to his Meta Rilld form, forcing Goku to transform into a Super Saiyan to fight him properly. As Goku begins to gain the upper hand, Rilld transforms again into Hyper Meta Rilld to allow him to fuse with any metal on the planet and make him nearly invincible. Despite this, Rilld is still defeated by Goku. Later, when Goku, Pan and Trunks escape from Myu's lab, they attempt to leave planet M2 when Rilld (possessed by Baby) tries to pull the ship down. He is killed when the trio use a triple Kamehameha.

Rilld returns later when the gateway to Hell is opened and fights against Gohan. He had the upper hand but is killed when Gohan is rescued by Majuub, Goten and Trunks.

His name, Rilld (rirudo) is an anagram of "drill" (doriru) in the original Japanese version, playing on the fact that one of his hands transforms into a drill when he makes his initial transformation. FUNimation, however, chose to name him Rilldo instead.

Tullece's Henchmen

Amond

A henchman of Tullece from movie 3. His hair looks similar to Zarbon's and his facial appearance resembles ReaCoom's. Amond has the power to spin himself around like a hurricane, which he used to defeat Kuririn. However, he was killed by Goku, with a solid kick to the stomach, along with the rest of Tullece's henchmen when Goku used the Kaio-ken.

He was voiced by Alec Willows in the ocean dub and by Paul Slavens in the Funimation version. Banjo Ginga is his seiyu.

Daizu

(English Name: Daiz)

A humanoid henchman of Tullece. He wears earrings and has long hair similar to that of Jheese. He also appears to Tullece's second-in-command. At first, Daizu was easily able to handle both Piccolo and Goku. Later on, he was slain by Goku when he used the Kaio-ken. Daizu later makes a cameo in movie 12.

He was voiced in the original ocean dub by Scott McNeil and by Mark Lancaster in the Re Dub. His seiyu was Yuji Machi.

Kakao

(English Name: Cacao)

Another henchman of Tullece. Kakao is a red-skinned, cybernetic alien. His built-in weapons (jet boosters and seismic blasts) system helped him swiftly defeat Yamucha. Later, Goku killed him as well as the rest of Tullece's men with the Kaio-ken technique. An interesting note about Kakao is that the way he speaks differs between dubs. In the Japanese version, he only says "Da!" which is the Russian word for "Yes". In the ocean dub he only groans. While in the Funimation version, he speaks in full-fledged sentences.

Kakao was voiced in the Ocean dub by Don Brown while in the Funimation dub he was voiced by Jeff Johnson. In the Japanese version, he is voiced by Nobuo Satouchi.

Rakasei & Rezun

(English Names: Lakasei and Rasin)

The two, short, plump henchmen of Tullece, Rakasei and his brother Rezun can merge into a singular being as well as being able to split in two at will. They are purple skinned, ovular-headed and rather short. They easily defeated both Chaozu and Tenshinhan, but later are defeated when Goku goes on a rampage against all of Tullece's henchmen, defeating them at the same time. They later appear in movie 12.

In the ocean dub Rezun was voiced by Ward Perry and Rakasei was done by Don Brown. In the Funimation Re Dub they were both voiced by Robert McCollum. They are both voiced by Kenji Utsumi in the Japanese version.

Lord Slug's Men

Angira

(English Name: Angila)

A handsome blue-skinned henchman of Lord Slug, modeled after Zarbon. He has the ability to elongate his arms, sinking them underground. He even moves underground himself. After attacking Goku with a mouth blast, Goku propels the blast right back at his face, forcing him to swallow his own blast. The blast explodes in his face and he dies.

In the original Japanese version, he is voiced by Keiichi Nanba. His English voice is done by John Burgmeier.

Dorodabo

(English Name: Wings)

Dorodabo is a big brown-skinned and gargoyle-esque winged henchman of Lord Slug, modeled after Dodoria. Because of his evil race, he cannot live in the sunlight or any kind of warm area. He takes on Piccolo only to get his arm cracked and his face blown off.

He is voiced by Daisuke Gori in the Japanese version. John Freeman voiced him in the English version.

Gyoshu and Kakuja

They are two, short ailen scientists working for Slug. When Gyoshu is asked by Slug how long it will take to "fix" Earth, his answer does not satisfy his leader and is swiftly killed. His successer, Kakuja, manages to "fix" Earth in half the time that Gyoshu said. Kakuja was unintensionally killed by Slug when the Namekian accidentally blasted his own ship when he was trying to kill Gohan.

Gyoshu's voice was done by Sonny Strait and Kakuja was voiced by Christopher R. Sabat in the englsih dub. In the Japanese version, Kakuja was voiced by Shozo Iizuka. Gyoshu's seiyu is currently unknown.

Medamatcha

A short, frog-faced, green-skinned henchman of Lord Slug. He has the ability to release small clones of himself from his body which he calls "Meda's". After Goku exterminates all the mini versions that Medamatcha releases, Medamatcha is taken down by Goku after Goku pummels him into the air and grabs him when he falls back down, allowing his limb body to fall to the ground, dead. He later comes back in movie 12.

He was voiced by Sean Schemmel in the English version, the voice of Goku, in the dub. In the original version, he is voiced by Yukitoshi Hori.

Zeeun

(Dub Name: Zeeun)

A henchman from the Dragon ball Z movie Lord Slug. Despite being featured on the cover of the movie, he is only in it for a brief period of time. He's quickly dispatched by the evil Namekian when he makes a foolish comment regarding Slug's age. He later makes a cameo appearance in movie 12.

He is voiced by Koji Totani in the Japanese version. Zeeun was voiced by Bradford Jackson in the Funimation version.

Others

Bun

(English Dub: Boon)

Bun is a humanoid alien who only appears in the anime. He seems to be second in command of the orphaned children that Bulma, Gohan, and Kuririn accidently run into at the end of the Saiyan arc and at the start of the Namek arc. The children believed that they were allies of Freeza, whose men destroyed their planet as well as their parents. After Bulma helps Bun outmaneuver some asteroids using her flying skills, the orphans finally accepted that they weren't with Freeza. After this catastrophe, Bun explains how it was some of Freeza's henchmen who attacked them and annihilated their people, the commander of the assault being none other than Kiwi. The scar that Bun received on his cheek was given by the oppressive Kiwi.

Bun is voiced by Daiki Nakamura in the original Japanese version and by Robert McCollum in the FUNimation dub. He is voiced in the Ocean Group dub by Bill Switzer.

Emi

(English Dub: Emy)

Emi is a young humanoid ailen girl. She is of the same race as Bun and Zeshin and is one of the many orphaned children who lost their parents to Freeza's men. When Gohan and Kuririn try to power up, Emi runs up to Kuririn and kicks him in the shin. Later when the ship starts to break apart due to entering an asteroid field, she is rescued by Gohan when he uses his Masenko to stop an explosive wave from harming her. The children conclude that they must not be with Freeza after all and Bulma and the others depart with the orphans on good terms.

Emi was voiced by Junko Shimakata in the original version and by Alison Retzloff in the FUNimation dub. In the Ocean version, she is voiced by Kelly Sheridan.

Kanassajins

(Funimation dub: Kanassans)

Kanassajins are a race of fishlike people featured in the Burdock Special. Inhabitants of Planet Kanassa, they are said to possess psychic abilities, thus Freeza orders their extermination out of paranoia that they could become a threat to him. They are wiped out by Burdock's team, as Oozaru who attacked during a full moon. A Kanassajin appears in episode 195 during the Great Saiyaman saga where he is being trained by North Kaio.

Kanassajin Commander

This unnamed commander appeared at the start of the Burdock special during the Oozaru's attack on Planet Kanassa. He had a vision that he and all the rest of his race would die prior to the invasion. He excepted his fate and battled the Oozaru when they finally attacked, even though he knew that the fight would be fruitless. The commander and a few soldiers attacked Burdock, only to be killed by a mouth blast from Toma.

His seiyu was Kenji Utsumi and he was voiced by Kent Williams in the FUNimation version.

Demetrious

Demetrious was a Kanassajin who appeared at the start of the Burdock Special. While fighting the Oozaru, he shot Panbukin on the cheek, scarring him, which caused Panbukin to react by crushing Demetrious under his foot. His final words being: "Commander, I have drawn blood! Now the foot must rise and fall!"

He was voiced by Kozo Shioya in the Japanese version and by Dameon Clarke in the English version.

Tooro

(Funimation Dub: Toolo)

Tooro was the last surviving Kanassajin before his death. After all the other members of his species are killed, Tooro emerges from the rubble and attacks Burdock, cursing him with the ability to see into the into the future. He was than tackled by Panbukin and shot with a ki blast from Toma. Before dying, Tooro tells Burdock that he will now see the horror of his end just as the Kanassajins had to, while laughing his head off. Angered at the ailen, Burdock kills him with another blast. Tooro's voice still continued to haunt Burdock all the way to the time of his death, when Freeza blew up the planet Vegeta.

Tooro was voiced by Banjo Ginga in the Japanese version and by Mike McFarland in the FUNimation dub.

Paikuhan

Paikuhan (パイクーハン, Paikuhan) is of an unknown species from the West Galaxy and is the West Kaiō's best student. Like several other filler characters, Paikuhan was designed by Akira Toriyama. Paikuhan met Son Goku in the afterlife and defeated Cell, Freeza and numerous others during an uprising in Hell with relative ease. When Goku mentions Piccolo to him he curiously mentions the name to himself as though it has some unforeseen relevance to him, though this relationship has never been explored throughout the series. He fought Goku in the final match of the Afterlife Tournament and, upon having the match result in a draw, struck up a friendship with Goku. He later makes the mistake of taunting Kid Boo, almost resulting in his being wiped out of existence. He appears again in the twelfth Dragon Ball Z film helping Goku defeat Janemba, eventually holding off Janemba by himself to give Goku & Vegeta time to become Gogeta.

Saibaimen

Small, humanoid fighters used by the Saiyans for the purpose of training, these creatures first appeared during the battle with Nappa, grown in the Earth's soil to battle the defending Z-Fighters. Not limited to attacking only with claws, Saibaimen have the unique ability to shoot a stream of acid from the top of their heads, and if forced, can self-destruct as a last resort.

While comparatively strong at their juncture of the series, most of the Saibaimen are dispatched in turn. One was killed by Vegeta after failing to defeat Tenshinhan, another had no choice but to use the self-destruct attack on Yamucha in order to win, three were killed by Kuririn's raining energy blasts, and the remaining one was killed by a mouth blast from Piccolo. They later appear in Dragon Ball GT as they escaped from Hell, but they are taken down easily by Goten, Trunks and Oob.

When translating the manga, Viz Media altered their original name to Cultivars in order to keep with the Japanese pun.

Their voice effects were done by Terry Klassen and Don Brown in the Ocean dub and by Chris Cason, Mike McFarland, and John Burgmeier in the Funimation re-dub.

Yardratians

The Yardratian race was first met by Goku after the supposed defeat of Freeza on Planet Namek. He arrived in an abandoned Ginyu pod that had already been pre-programmed for Yardrat. Due to this fact, it is likely that the Ginyu Special Corps were planning to destroy the Yardratians had they not been defeated on Namek. They are a physically weak race, but possess the ability to manipulate space and time, and teach Goku an instant teleportation technique. The Yardratians are supposed to play a major role in the upcoming game Dragon Ball Online. Apparently, when Goku left the Yardratians, it was them whom he picked up the viral heart disease that would later endanger his life.

His true form is similar to Lychee's except his skin is dark pink and he is also taller. They almost succeed by disguising themselves as Namekians and leading them on a false Dragon Ball quest, but Kuririn and Gohan easily defeat them, leaving them trapped on the false Namek. They later make a small cameo appearance in Dragon Ball GT.

After Gohan and Kuririn help Zeshin defend the ship from suffering an attack from some asteroids, Zeshin finally accepted that they weren't with Freeza. He later makes a cameo in the Kid Boo saga in the anime only, giving his energy to the Super Genki-Dama.
