Charles River Laboratories is a leading provider of animal research models, as well as a range of biomedical products and outsourcing services, for use in the discovery, development and testing of new pharmaceuticals.

The company was founded in 1947 and is headquartered at 251 Ballardvale Street, Wilmington, Massachusetts, USA.

The current chief executive officer of Charles River Laboratories is James C. Foster.
