==Ayer Tawar== Town of 30 000 in Perak, Malaysia, in the district of Manjung. Known for its Chinese Methodist Church and the Kutien Association Building. Home to many Chinese of Fuzhou origin.
Ayer Tawar is the centre of an agricultural region, situated 60km from Ipoh, capital of Perak state, and 22 km from Lumut, where the Royal Malaysian Navy is based. It is surrounded by oil palm plantations and estates.
The town is mostly Chinese rubber/oil palm growers and retailers while outlying kampungs (villages) are populated by Malay padi and fruit farmers.
