In the absence of any exact definition of what "from" means, I have interpreted it to mean country of birth and adjusted the footnotes accordingly. Cyrille Regis was the first winner to have been born outside the U.K., even though he went on to play for England.
The article says that "ten winners of the main PFA Players' Player of the Year award" are from outside the United Kingdom. Who are the ten, as I can only find nine? Brady, Cantona, Bergkamp, Ginola, Keane, van Nistelrooy, Henry and Ronaldo are a definite eight, and the ninth would either be John Barnes if you are counting country of birth or Paul McGrath if you are counting country represented. Have I overlooked something? --Jameboy (talk) 13:15, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think it was a badly-worded reference to the fact that (at the time it was put in, before Ronaldo's second win this year) the "main" award had been won by non-UK players on ten separate occasions, as Henry won twice. I've re-worded it now...... ChrisTheDude (talk) 13:20, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
