Hey!
Hey thanks man! Yeah that's something I need to learn how to do...>_< (Not that I have any idea but it would be cool to learn how to make them). Thanks for adopting me and I'll ask you if I need anyhelp :D Letter 7/Caleb (talk) 17:32, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ah cool, sorry I didn't respond fast enough, alot of s*** going on in my life right now so...whenever it's best for you i'm willing to learn. Letter 7/Caleb (talk) 00:43, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Fake message bar
I'd advise you pull that down... There's a policy it violates, I'm just trying to track down which one. You can keep it, if you modify it so it's not the exact same text that we receive when we actually have a new message. xenocidic (talk) 18:37, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. For the record, it was a guideline, not a policy ( cf. Wikipedia:Help_desk#What_policy_is_being_violated_here.3F_.28_fake_.22You_have_messages_.22_notifier_.29). cheers, xenocidic (talk) 18:46, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Pictures
They're displaying fine for me when I click the "show" button, but the div bar is too long (overlaps with your infobox). Not sure how to fix that =) xenocidic (talk) 15:28, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- Done. Fixed the width box. Is it working now? xenocidic (talk) 15:30, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. xenocidic (talk) 15:34, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Sorry
I haven't been of much help lately. Seems you got the question you asked on my talk page fixed. Vivio TestarossaTalk Who 00:00, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Advice on speedies
Hi. Welcome to the (informal) New Pages Patrol. May I give you some advice? Rather than use a made-up reason like "not enough info" for a speedy delete, it's much better to use one of the standard templates like {{db-person}} or {{db-band}}. The acceptable reasons for a speedy delete are actually quite restricted, and if one of the standard ones doesn't fit that probably means the page doesn't qualify for a speedy. It's worth reading WP:CSD quite carefully, otherwise you may find that your speedy nominations get declined by the admin who looks at them. Also, once you have put on a speedy template, when you look at the page you will see that the notice includes a warning message which you should copy to the author's talk page. If the author is new and hasn't had one, I like to add some sort of welcome message and pointer to useful places like the Introduction and the guide to creating Your first article, but that's up to you. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 19:11, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
New Page Patroller
Hey, The problem is always almost related to caching. You need to tell your web browser to 'hard refresh' the page as its called. See Wikipedia:Bypass_your_cache. If the problem persists, see your doctor - actually see me. --TheJosh (talk) 02:51, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- I copied your monobook.js into mine, and it still worked so its not a conflict with our other script, leading me into my next question: What is your browser? Name, Version and OS please. --TheJosh (talk) 12:10, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- I have just tested your monobook.js on Internet Explorer version 6, on windows XP sp2, and the box was showing fine. I can do additional testing but I cannot help if I cannot recreate the problem, and to do so it would help to know your version of IE. To find out, go to 'help' -> 'about'. If its IE 7 im not sure where the menu is, but you should be able to find it. I'm thinking it is probably an issue in IE 7 but not in IE 6 - as in I think the script is broken, and you have found a bug, but I cannot be sure until I can do more testing. --TheJosh (talk) 13:45, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Lol, It's not your fault for his actions...but thanks for reverting and stuff. Oh and by the way tell him that I'm not really a nerd, but Wikipedia is a hobby where I have to be discreet about my personallity. Letter 7 (talk) 15:25, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Background colour
Not quite sure, it might be best to look at the source of the pages you're talking about to see, but perhaps try
<span style="background:red">
This should make the background red
You could also try it with table code
{| style="border: 1px solid red; background-color: #FFD; text-align: left; padding: 5px; font-size:9pt;" |This table should have a background colour |}
This table should have a background colour |
Hope this helps, xenocidic ( talk ¿ review ) 17:19, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Template
Is it a single/personal-use template, or something that others might have use of? If it's just for yourself, just create it somewhere in your userpage space, then you can subst it or transclude it when you need it (i.e. User:Xenocidic/welcome). If it's something everyone might use, then create it at Template:whatever it should be called. xenocidic ( talk ¿ review ) 16:53, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- (P.S. I found what you're referring to, if you look at the welcome thing I linked above, you can see how to trick it into encoding your signature). xenocidic ( talk ¿ review ) 17:00, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Userpage colors
Hey! Titoxd made mine. Later, I created a template of sorts that you can copy, paste into your own userpage, and edit to your heart's content. The link is here--to copy it, edit it, copy and paste the part under the intro text I wrote at the top. If you need more detailed help implementing it or whatever, let me know, I'm always happy to help. :) Cheers!--ViolinGirl♪ 23:30, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- I edited your sandbox according to the specifications you indicated on my talk page (at least, to the best of my ability). Is that basically what you were looking for? If you want to see what I did to change it, you can see the revision history. For future reference, your problem was in specifying colors by name instead of HTML number (which you can learn more about here. Let me know if there's anything else you'd like changed or need help on. ^_^--ViolinGirl♪ 19:45, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Help page patrol
Hi Jacob696. As you're listed listed on Wikipedia:Help Page Patrol, I thought you might be interested in a discussion regarding the use of the {{resolved}} template. Editors have argued that it slows the loading time down through the use of graphics in particular, and also it is sometimes incorrectly placed, leaving some editors with an incomplete or incorrect response. Please express your thoughts at Wikipedia talk:Help desk#Recent constant use of the resolved template. Thanks, and keep up the good work. PeterSymonds (talk) 17:14, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Infobox user colour
Hi Jacob, which infobox would that be? Cheers, PeterSymonds (talk) 17:57, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, I see. Unfortunately I can't see an obvious solution, so I suggest getting in touch with RyRy5 (talk · contribs), who specialises in userpage design. Sorry not to be of much help! Best, PeterSymonds (talk) 18:12, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hello, Jacobs. I've replied on User talk:PeterSymonds. --RyRy5 (talk) 23:46, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Um, I don't think I can change the backround color of the infobox. I'm experienced in user pages, not much with infoboxes. Sorry, RyRy5 (talk) 18:04, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- As far as I can see, there's no parameter to change the background colour. You could consider substing the infobox user into a subpage of your userpage and tweaking it directly (I showed you above how to change the background of a table, and the infobox uses tables), but I've also dropped a request for this paramater here. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 15:33, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
