History

The Prague Philharmonia Orchestra was established in 1995 by Czech musicians around the German conductor Friedemann Riehle. The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra quickly developed into one of the leading Orchestras for CD-recording in Europe. The orchestra is playing about 200 recording sessions every year. The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra has cooperations partners like Decca, EMI, Sony BMG and many international Filmstudios. Soloists like Jonas Kaufmann or Sol Gabetta recorded CDs with the orchestra. The New Years Concerts of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Friedemann Riehle are belonging to the highlights of the Prague Music Scene.
