Corporal Kolodny

Corporal Kolodny is a minor character in Joseph Heller's classic novel Catch-22.

Kolodny is Captain Black's assistant. It is he who erroneously reports that the city of Bologna has been captured by the allies, when Yossarian redraws the battle lines on the map. Kolodny later drunkenly shoots himself in the leg during the Thanksgiving party. Gus & Wes make a rare exception and admit him to the hospital even though he is not running a fever.
