There is a Flatiron Building located in the Financial District of San Francisco, California. Built in 1913 at the corner of Sutter and Market Street, the structure was named for its distinctive triangular shape. Designated landmark #155, it is on the list of sights-to-see when visiting the city.

The Sentinel Building is another of the few examples of "flatiron" construction remaining in San Francisco. Damaged, while under construction, during the 1906 San Francisco earthquake it was completed in 1907. It is currently (since 1972) home to American Zoetrope Studios founded by Francis Ford Coppola. It is located at the corner of Kearny Street and Columbus Avenue.
