Abilene High School is located in the town of Abilene, Kansas. The school mascot is a Cowboy for men and Cowgirl for the women. Abilene High School is a 4A high school, and is a member of the North Central Kansas League (NCKL).
Mission Statement
The mission of Abilene High School is to provide a positive educational environment that instills in all students a responsibility, a confidence, and a desire to learn and to continue seeking knowledge as they transition into a changing world.

Many spectators at sporting events have said that the Abilene High School Band Program is one of the top band programs in the state of Kansas.
Cowboy Joe
Cowboy Joe is a yearly event designed to promote yearbook sales. Those who purchase a yearbook are eligible to vote for "Cowboy Joe". It takes place in November usually during "Dead Week".
