Number
I think that to try to put a number next to the player is not imporant. Especially that it is always changing for most of the players.
POV
Okay, why does the first sentence mention about the team not succeeding so well? --84.249.252.211 12:02, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
- Look, that's not POV: They aren't succeding. They haven't even qualified for the world cup since the early 80's. -Kookykman|(t)e 17:48, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Players
I will reedit the section on the players, so people will be able to see the last call up.--Soopafred 18:15, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
- Great work so far, but will you be cleaning up the forwards to be consistent with the other players? Jmcnally 18:29, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry. I didn`t have time to finish it because I forgot about it. --Soopafred 14:35, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
just checking
"Maple Leaves" or "Maple Leafs" ?
Tahrlis 22:02, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Don't know, but I'd prefer Maple Leaves. --curling rock Earl Andrew - talk 00:58, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Isn't Maple Leaves a name people use in a derogatory way when talking about the Toronto Maple Leafs? Is it really a nickname for the Canadian NT? --Bigdottawa 21:46, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- I believe you're thinking of "Maple Laughs" --curling rock Earl Andrew - talk 21:55, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Former MNT numbers
Do we seriously need to list every player with over ten caps since the 1920s? I was going to edit it, but I wasn't sure what I should do. DamionOWA 06:36, 20 August 2006 (UTC) EDIT: also the full table of our all-time records. Do we need that? The article is pretty long.
- the over ten caps is informative and found no place else. i d like to the all-times results records go though. i also restored the player pool tables Mayumashu 14:10, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Kit colours
Panarjedde insists that this line in Template talk:Football kit means representations of colours only are what a kit is for: "To create a new pattern template follow the examples below. When you have created a new pattern please add it to the list below. Do not create patterns for minor details on a kit, the template is for showing basic team colours. It is not supposed to be an accurate drawing of the kit." Now, I admit that it says "basic team colours", but if all that was intended was the showing of colours, then we'd have a box with colours listed, not a depiction of the jersey. Read the kit template talk and you'll see there's little consensus as to what exactly the "right" way to use the kit template is, but most conflict is over the addition of features much more minor than the ones that have been on this kit for a month prior to Panarjedde's changes. It's clear by a look around the kit template and football teams articles that while the jerseys are not an attempt at reproduction, they are an attempt at a fair depiction of the kit. Panarjedde's version has black or white sides on the shirt where the jersey clearly only has one side coloured. Plenty of football kits around Wikipedia have features such as this depicted correctly. The following three are examples of the kit depicted before I made my edits, after my edits, and after Panarjedde's edits. I stand by my edits. └ OzLawyer / talk ┐ 12:59, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Forthcoming fixtures
I see the forthcoming fixtures and recent results were removed. The person doing so, seemed to be pointing to that the information should be at Wikinews, however there is no information I could find there at all, on the Canadian national soccer team. I can see a lot of valid reasons that this information shouldn't be here. However for the information to not be here, other criteria needs to be achieved. I think the information needs to be elsewhere, and the location of that information should be listed here. Nfitz 18:35, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Why is the CMNT CSA crest not the same as the CWNT crest on wiki? (unsigned comment by 70.50.181.231 02:47, 25 January 2007)
Squad trimming
The listed squad has 43 people in it. The first thing that jumps out to me are the 4 players listed with no callups; second, the three players with callups but no caps, third, the seven players that haven't been called up since 2005 or earlier (including the three with callups and no caps). You could concievably give Daniel Imhof an exception for having 32 caps, but a lot of other players are listed without really needing to be.
Does anyone have a problem with clipping Asmir Begovic (0 caps), Mike Franks (0 caps), Rhian Dodds (0 caps), Antonio Ribiero (0 caps), Nikolas Ledgerwood (0 caps), Dave Simpson (0 caps), Alen Marcina (0 caps), Joshua Wagenaar (1 cap, last seen 2005), Rosso Placentino (1 cap, last seen 2005), Ive Sulentic (2 caps, last seen 2005), Tony Menezes (27 caps, last seen 2004), and Daniel Imhof (32 caps, last seen 2005) from the squad list? That would bring the total down to 31. Does anyone have any other submissions for excise from the list?
I almost think that the whole squad section should be replaced with whoever goes to the Gold Cup, and we can just continue our process from there. DamionOWA 19:18, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
I agree. Way to many players listed. Go with whoever played in the gold cup OR maybe whoever else has played a full national game in 2007. User: RKing85 July 5, 2007

History?
Shouldn't there be a history section? This whole article seems to deal with the team after 2006, when it's had a long, eventful history before then (the 1986 World Cup appearance, 2000 Gold Cup victory). I know it may not a "positive" history, but it's still one that has to be recounted. -RomeW 02:37, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Catliff/Mitchelll
Why does the infobox list both Catliff and Mitchell as joint top-scorers with 19, while the table of all-time leading scorers lower on the page has Mitchell at 19 and Catliff at 18? I personally thought they were both tied at 19, but I can only assume someone disputes one of Catliff's goals and has edited the page to reflect that? -Themodelcitizen 03:44, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe it's just a typo? GiantSnowman (talk) 16:15, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- I've updated the table with the information from the RSSSF. Somewhere, either the CSA or Wikipedia messed up their page, and the other one updated itself incorrectly in turn. Hopefully the CSA will soon reflect the accurate history, which I believe is now represented on Wiki. - Themodelcitizen (talk) 06:43, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- For more on this see the discussion at http://canadian-soccer.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15699 , it looks as though Mitchell is the sole leader at 19. Still doesn't explain why the CSA's website listed them tied at 19 for the better part of 5 years from 2000-2005. - Themodelcitizen (talk) 20:25, 08 June 2008 (UTC)

History/template
I've updated the article with an extensive history, incorporating what was already there, and conforming to the template for national football teams according to the Wiki project as best I could. Feel free to update/tweak the setup, its a bit cluttered, but I felt it was important to include the history section (as pointed out by RomeW below). - Themodelcitizen (talk) 08:43, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Updates
Updated with caps, DeRo's goal in the record scorers table, and the Martinique result. Whether or not it was an official FIFA friendly, it was a CONCACAF game, and the ELO rankings will reflect it. If we played them in the Gold Cup it would count, friendlies are no different. We need all the matches we can get. Let's keep this as accurate as possible, there were mistakes in here that it appeared the CSA used in its website. I've used the RSSSF statistics in the past as they seem to be more accurate.
I've also updated a few sections like managers, if anyone has more information about nationalities for guys like McAllister, please fill it in. I've moved the long lists of players with caps to the linked article, as it was getting way too cluttered. If anyone wants to clean it up further go ahead. There's also a few players I didn't put into the list of squad members (jakovic, etc), but I can get to that if no one else does. Themodelcitizen (talk) 05:32, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Clean-up
I made a records page and moved some of the clutter over there, as it was lots of useful info, but the page was becoming difficult to read. If people think the caps/goalscorers table was more appropriate here, we can move it back, but better to keep it in just 1 place as it will be easier to update. I believe these numbers are accurate, the CSA had incorrect numbers on their website for a bit but I think they had just copied the wrong numbers from wiki. - Themodelcitizen (talk) 23:55, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
History - 1994
The 8-0 loss to Mexico was in the '93 Gold Cup and not in World Cup qualifying. In qualifying for '94 we made it all the way to the CONCACAF/OFC Playoff which we lost. I would change it but I'm not all that familiar with hyperlinking, etc in wikipedia, so hopefullly someone else will. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.87.68.128 (talk) 02:31, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
- You are correct. It's not hard to make changes. You should give it a try! Check out the Wikipedia:Welcoming committee for advice on how to get started.
- I'll change that Mexico loss to the Gold Cup. The 1990's section is missing a lot of stuff and it would be great if someone would add to it.--SaskatchewanSenator (talk) 21:32, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- Umm, the Columbus Cup and Caribana Cup weren't what I meant when I suggested adding to the 90's section. I don't think these friendlies are notable enough to be in the article.--SaskatchewanSenator (talk) 18:59, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
1990 NAFC Championship
Is it relevant to this article what CONCACAF does not list on its web site? I think that statement should be removed.--SaskatchewanSenator (talk) 21:50, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
