Abbey Park is a housing estate that was constructed in the mid to late 70s by Costain Homes. All the roads are named after famous abbeys. The Willow Tree public house was constructed at the same time. The land was previously uncultivated fields and allotments.

The estate is divided in 2 with the majority of homes being constructed for private purchase whilst a smaller number were constructed for council tennants.

There is a mix of 3, 4 and 5 bedroomed homes on the private estate in town-house, semi-detached, link detached and detached configurations. There is also a small number of bungalows. This part of Abbey Park consists of Bisham Drive, Dale Close, Newstead Drive, Mountsorrel Drive, Fountains Close, Waltham Close and Nearsby Drive. The house are all arranged in these cul-de-sacs whilst the two through roads on the estate are Rufford Way and Buckfast Way.

The council funded area consists of Tewkesbury Close, Hexham Close, Bolton Close and Furness Close and includes some warden aided accomodation for the elderly.

Abbey Park is a pleasant and quiet area of West Bridgford and house prices are generally on the lower end of the scale for this area.
