Jakarta International School (JIS) is a school for expatriate students in Jakarta Indonesia.

JIS is a large, well-equipped school for students aged three through eighteen years, set on three campuses (Cilandak, Pondok Indah, Patimura).

Jakarta International School (JIS) has students form over 60 nationalities attending classes.[1] In 1951, Jakarta International School was founded specifically as an international school for expatriate students living in Jakarta.

Administration

Jakarta International School is an Indonesian Yayasan (not-for-profit organization) overseen by a board of governors and a school council, that functions like a school board or board of education. The School Council consists of eleven members; nine elected, plus two appointed members one of whom must be an Indonesian citizen.[2] Elected terms are three years long.[citation needed]

High School

JIS offers tuition for grades 9-12. Students undertake the JIS Diploma, and choose to complete an International Baccalaureate Diploma,[3] and/or an International Advanced Placement Diploma.
