FLC

Hey, did you forget to remove Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Sites of Special Scientific Interest in the West Midlands from FLC in this edit [1]? Was going to remove it myself but wanted to check. Thanks Suicidalhamster (talk) 00:28, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Simpsons

Although I didn't add that they are going to be renewed for four years, that obviously means the show is, what else would they pay them for, a spin off? Ctjf83Talk 17:26, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Caldercup.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Caldercup.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:05, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

s18 Titles

Check this source, and you'll see various listings. Click on an episode, and you'll discover how the titles are correctly spelled according to the official FOX releases, and not a ridiculous parody of Stop, or My Mom Will Shoot!, but simply Stop or My Dog Will Shoot.- Yours truly, [ S ] υ ρ є r ı o r reply! 18:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the SoMDWS move. Regardless, I've never ever deleted a page, so I've manually moved KGV1&2.- Yours truly, Sυρєrıor reply 14:30, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FLC idea

Hey Scorpion. Thanks for your note. Yeah, no reason why not. I did a Good Article drive a while ago and in a month they reduced their 150-odd review backlog to next-to-nothing, all with the temptation of the odd barnstar etc. Got to remember we're still striving for the "best of Wikipedia" mind you so sprinting for featured success may be a little inappropriate, but as long as the finished products meet the criteria and either of us are happy then I guess it's a win-win scenario. So... how do you promote it and how do you bound the contest? The Rambling Man (talk) 16:34, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As long as I somehow end up a winner then it's fine by me. Gary King (talk) 16:46, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well we're guaranteed one with Gary! The Rambling Man (talk) 17:04, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sounds good. I particularly like being weak and unremarkable. Makes a big change from me saving the universe on a minute-by-minute basis... The Rambling Man (talk) 17:25, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well don't rely on Tony, he's a very busy guy when he gets a chance to spend time on Wikipedia. But yeah, worth an ask... The Rambling Man (talk) 17:30, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm an IRC noob. I've got no idea, really. I should do. But for the moment, no I'm not. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:31, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm on the Wikipedia channel now (I think!) but it's all a very new and confusing experience for such a technofool (despite being an engineer..) The Rambling Man (talk) 17:58, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if you're using the same text to let everyone know, but you spelled "Greetings", "Grettings". BTW, I put my name down for it :) Matthewedwards (talk · contribs · count · email) 18:30, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the contest, I've been thinking that if the reasoning behind it is to garner some extra attention to WP:FL, then perhaps you should hold off for a couple of week or so. If you notified the WP:Village Pump, the WP:Signpost, and a few other places, there'd be more people who haven't put forward a FL before who may be willing to enter. Right now the only entrants are the regular FL nominators, and that I think, won't draw much attention to the project. Just a thought. Works for me! Matthewedwards (talk · contribs · count · email) 01:56, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry at FLC

Hello Scorpion, I just wanted to notify you that User:Alive Would? Sun, who nominated a-ha discography and List of a-ha awards for FLC, is indefinitely blocked on suspicion of being a sock-puppet. indopug (talk) 19:31, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FL contest

Thanks for the invite, but my life is going to be a hectic for the next week or so. If you run a similar a competition again, let me know. Tompw (talk) (review) 20:18, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To be sure, with Thursday you mean today (my time)? If so, that is fast. I will try to find a topic then today.Garion96 (talk) 22:15, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Contest

This seems more sports-like, but does List of Major League Baseball ERA champions, fall under the "awards" category? What about World Series MVP Award? Thanks, « Milk's Favorite Cøøkie 23:58, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would List of films 5 or More Competitive Awards (still to create) be approved? « Milk's Favorite Cøøkie 00:27, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The info from here, I think I can handle a new list creation. « Milk's Favorite Cøøkie 00:54, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Looked around, couldn't find anything. What exactly should I rename it to? « Milk's Favorite Cøøkie 01:25, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FLC withdrawals

Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of a-ha awards and Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/a-ha discography should be withdrawn since there is no one left to resolve any issues. Gary King (talk) 04:08, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incident at The Simpsons Ride

According to this article, guests riding the ride were sprayed with vegetable oil. Should this be cited in the article?--Snowman Guy (talk) 00:35, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lists

Hey dude. Hope you're ok. Just wanted to quickly chat out what our roles seem to be evolving into at FLC... Not really surprisingly, you're doing the majority of the closures and promotions etc. I think what would be best for me to do is to focus on the "backlog" lists and try to get them tidy, MOS-compliant etc. Obviously when either of us is "away" we need to cover the tasks completely but otherwise, is this a fair appraisal and are you okay with it? On another note, competition seems to be taking off nicely! The Rambling Man (talk) 10:11, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok cool well let's carry on as we are. I like the look of some of the contest lists too, very interesting topics... The Rambling Man (talk) 15:46, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
