Iron Fist is the sixth album by the British band Motörhead.

This was the last album the band recorded with "Fast" Eddie Clarke, who left Motörhead on their second US tour due to a conflict with Lemmy. After his departure, the band drafted ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson to finish the tour.

This album was recorded during the best part of late January and February 1982 at Morgan and Ramport studios in London. Looking back, Lemmy and Phil Taylor admit that it wasn't a good idea for Eddie Clarke to produce the sessions, and even Clarke admits it was a mistake. From the fans' point of view, the tracks were comparable to their earlier predecessors, but the odd two or three tracks lacked the edge and punch of old. The band were already into the British leg of the 'Iron Fist' tour by the time the album was in the shops.[2] Despite this it reached number 6 in the UK charts.

Promotion for the album went as far as the May 1982 edition of Rennbahn Express, an Austrian magazine, which included a free flexidisc with excerpts from "Iron Fist", "Sex and Outrage", "Don't Let 'em Grind You Down" and "Loser". Lemmy is interviewed by Robert Reumann in English and is overdubbed with a German translation.[3]

The release of the album prompted Bronze/Mercury in Canada to issue The Complete Motörhead Kit. This featured a limited edition 12" vinyl containing "Iron Fist", "Too Late, Too Late", "Remember Me, I'm Gone", "Ace of Spades" and "Motorhead" (from the Hammersmith LP), plus a tour programme, tour poster, and an embroidered patch of the band's logo.[3]
