Hillary Swank (born July 30, 1974 in Lincoln, Nebraska) is an American actress who won an Oscar in 2001 for her portrayal of a transgendered man in the movie Boys Don't Cry.

Her career in Hollywood was launched with the release of The Karate Kid 4 (A.K.A. The Next Karate Kid), where she played the first female protege of the by then legendary professor Mr. Miagi (Played by Pat Morita).

She also had a reccuring role on the television show Beverly Hills 90210.
