Thanks for uploading Image:Mdh.gif. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks for commenting on this. I will review the case of Narayan and the others you mentioned. Rabindranath Tagore has written poetry saturated with Vedic imagery and Vaishnavite devotion, and translated Kabir. I included Amrita Pritam because I haven't yet found many modern Sikh writers - maybe she can be replaced with better examples. Vivekanda and Dayananda are missing because the template says "1900 to present". I had to restrict the time frame - otherwise the list of authors for the template would tend to be too big. Maybe we could say "1875 to present" instead? Tilak is somewhere between the 19th and 20th century, and could be included, as also some of the others you mention, and you can include them if you like. Re: Depth value for Hindi Wikipedia
Yes, the reason is quite obvious ... in Bangla Wikipedia, we have shifted our focus from increasing article count to increasing article quality. Unforunately, most of the other south asian wikipedias do the opposite ... I did a quick check at Nepal Bhasha, Telegu, Hindi, Marathi, Bishnupriya Manipuri, and most of the articles there seemed to be written by bots and had only a single sentence, or even worse ... only a table generated by the Bot.
While we did have about 3000-4000 bot generated articles on Indian cities, we have stopped doing that. We now focus on content, and only write articles if we have enough content to fill a screen. I guess that's why the "Depth" parameter has such a high value for Bangla Wikipedia.
I suggest that you focus on content generation rather than increasing article count, and disallow creation of one-liners, table-only stubs by bots. That ought to increase your article quality gradually.
