He is a firm believer in restoring order to Japan, and in the old ways of Samurai swordfighting. As such, he carries a very serious persona. He is extremely loyal to his Shisengumi unit, and is a friend to Sanada Kojiro. He is the only one in the unit who is aware of her true identity.
Gameplay
Washizuka is the only true charge character in the game. His style consists of your basic projectile, and anti-air along with a rapid striking technique and a unique charging move. The charge is considered to be his greatest asset as he is able to link it into a low, mid, or high hitting attack after his shoulder makes contact with the opponent.
Trivia
- Washizuka bares a striking resemblance to Saito Hajime of Kenshin fame, who was also a part of the Shinsengumi. His pose during his Super Desperation Move, almost perfectly mirrors Saito's fighting stance from the "Trust and Betrayal" OVA.
- Washizuka also bares a cross shaped scar on his face, similar to that of Himura Kenshin's.
