"Car Wash" is the first and only single from the Shark Tale Soundtrack. Released in 2004, the single (which features Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliot) peaked at #63 on the Billboard Hot 100 becoming Aguilera's 13th Hot 100 chart entry. Due to the song's low peak, it is generally believed to be her second flop single. The single also peaked at #4 in the UK. The single is most known for its whimsical music video in which Aguilera and Elliot are portrayed by cartoon fish!

The song features rapper Missy Elliott, and it is a cover of the song "Car Wash" by Rose Royce.
Chart success
Perhaps due to lack of promotion, "Car Wash" flopped in the US, failing to crack even the top fifty of either the Billboard Hot 100 or Hot 100 Airplay. The song was a relative hit on Hot Digital Tracks hitting #18. Unfortunately, downloads did not count towards the Hot 100 until early 2005, so sales points from the downloads were not allowed to be added to the song, thus, making the song classified as "Airplay Only".
Internationally, however, the story was much different, as the single became a top five hit in the UK.
