Template:Infobox Euroleague Player Marcus James Brown (born April 3 1974, in West Memphis, Arkansas) is an American professional basketball player, currently playing in Žalgiris Kaunas. As of December 7, 2007 Brown was the Euroleague's all-time top scorer with 2,119 points and was reported earlier in his career as the highest paid American player in the history of European Basketball garnering more per season than Dominique Wilkins, a former NBA player who left the NBA for a stint to play basketball in Greece. A quality player able to make a difference in a top team, he attended the Euroleague Final Four three times (2004, 2005, 2007) and earned an All-Euroleague Team selection twice (2004 First Team, 2005 Second Team). Brown by many prognosticators is said to be one of the best players to ever play in Europe. Already he was a write in nomination to the 2007 Euroleague fifty greatest players and he is still playing.

Brown, a 6'3" (191 cm) guard, attended and played collegiately at Murray State University and was selected with the 17th pick of the 2nd round in the 1996 NBA Draft by the National Basketball Association's Portland Trail Blazers. He played one season with the Trail Blazers and another with the Detroit Pistons. He signed with the Vancouver Grizzlies in the 1997-98 season, but did not play in any regular season games for them.

Brown has played professionally in France, Turkey, Italy, Russia, Spain and Lithuania. In 2005-07, he played in Unicaja Málaga of the Spanish ACB, where he played alongside fellow ex-NBA players Daniel Santiago, Pepe Sanchez, and Jiri Welsch.[citation needed]
