Noel Cantwell

Noel Cantwell (born February 28, 1932 in Cork -- died September 8th, 2005) was an Irish football player. Cantwell started his career with Western Rovers F.C.. He would also play for Cork Athletic F.C., West Ham United, and Manchester United. He would see his greatest success while at Manchester. Cantwell would help the club win the 1965 and 1967 league titles and the 1963 F.A. Cup. He joined Manchester in 1960 and left the club in 1967 after scoring eight goals.

Upon retirement he briefly went into management with Coventry City but did not stay long in the profession.

He also played cricket for Ireland.

Noel Cantwell died on September 8th 2005 after a battle against cancer.
