Second Motion Records is part of Second Motion Entertainment based in Chapel Hill, NC and was founded in May 2008. The label is owned by former Athenaeum manager and GM of Redeye Distribution and Yep Roc Records, Stephen Judge.

Second Motion's first four releases are slated for September 30th and will be: Irish singer (and Mercury Award nominee) Gemma Hayes' "Hollow Of Morning" which reached #12 first week in the Irish Charts. Also released on Sept 30th will be three records from Verve Pipe singer, Brian Vander Ark which his debut solo release "Resurrection" (originally released on Brash Records, and also the previously unreleased "Angel, Put Your Face On" as well as the new 2008 album simply entitled "Brian Vander Ark".
