Kevin Thorn
Kevin Matthew Fertig a.k.a. Vengeance (born January 7, 1977 in Memphis, Tennessee) is a professional wrestler who previously worked for World Wrestling Entertainment's SmackDown! brand.
Kevin debuted on SmackDown! as Mordecai, a religious priest-type character. Mordecai was a religious fanatic with a Messiah Complex. He claimed he saw nothing but sin everywehre he went, and God had chosen him to rid the world of sin. He wore white and had blonde hair and a beard as a sign of his purity. In one sequence he condemned the audience to hell, his finishing move was a crucifix powerbomb, and he carried a variation of a crucifix with him everywhere. He would also pray before matches. It was intended for him to feud with The Undertaker, him believing The Undertaker to be a servant of Satan, a reference to when The Undertaker was the lord of Darkness. While some sections of the audience liked the character, the gimmick did not get over with fans and Kevin had been sent back to OVW for his character to be overhauled.
On July 5, 2005, while training at Ohio Valley Wrestling, Fertig was released from his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
