Bmicomp (talk · contribs) – Although Bmicomp has only been here since June 30, he has made an astounding 4700+ edit with 600+ to the Wikipedia namespace, 1500+ (quite a lot) to the User Talk name space as he is constantly monitoring Wikipedia for vandals and warns them. The user definetly needs the rollback button as he is always out whacking vandals and it would also benefit the community if he were promoted to an admin. A great editor if I ever saw one. 33. Support. With much edits in a very short time that are very varied and of course because of your nature to combat vandalism and the mastering of the Spanish language (that can be useful if you would help in translations), I have no doubts about my vote. -- Svest 18:58, September 12, 2005 (UTC) Wiki me up™

  40. Support. I guess this is evidence of the IRC (Cabal) effect: if you see the person around in the channel, you are more likely to notice that user's edits in recent changes. As a result, assuming the user is a good user, then you are more likely to trust the user to use admin powers wisely. - Mark 03:58, 13 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
I would continue to RC patrol as well as deal with articles that are CSD, close out AfDs and block vandals (it'd be nice to not have to bother admins with this anymore).
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I don't have one article I'm particularly proud of, although I am proud of the RC patrolling I've done. To some it may seem sort of trivial, dealing with vandals all day, but somebody has to do it. Also, I put a bit of work into Chicago and related articles.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I was involved in a tame edit conflict early on. I put the dispute into perspective, and realized that Wikipedia is nothing to get upset about. I was fighting to keep what I saw as a misrepresentation out of the article (using citations, I might add), but I took a step back and realized that a misrepresenation in an article doesn't matter. I mean, I should work to make articles neutral, but it's nothing to get upset over. After all, there are methods to deal with edit disputes and there is no instant necessity to fix an article.
