Neil Young is a Canadian musician whose music ranges from country to folk to hard rock. Born November 12, 1945, in Toronto, Ontario, Young is known for his songs The Needle and the Damage Done, Cinnamon Girl, Hey Hey, My My, and Harvest Moon.

He was a member of the bands Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

Young's song "Ohio" was written following the Kent State University killings that happened on May 4, 1970. The song was used frequently during anti-war rallies in the 1970s.
