The Heaven Project is an upcoming drama/thriller film about a former criminal who mysteriously ends up working at a psychiatric hospital. The film was written and directed by John Glenn and stars Paul Walker and Linda Cardellini.

Premise

An ex-con (Walker) is sentenced to death, but he wakes up from his lethal injection in a small Oregon town. He is told that he has received a second chance from God, but he questions the circumstances of his survival. He works as a groundskeeper for a mental hospital and falls in love with the hospital's administrator (Cardellini).[1]

Cast

Production

The film is written and directed by John Glenn in his directorial debut. Production was originally slated for September 2005, with Mandeville Films attached to produce the film.[2] After a prolonged delay, actor Paul Walker was cast into The Heaven Project. Production began on April 15 2007,[3] taking place in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Actress Linda Cardellini joined the film the following May.[1]

The film has been noted to be similar to the 1890 short story "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" by Ambrose Bierce.[4]
