Harold Joseph Thomas (born c. 1947) is an Indigenous Australian descended from the Luritja people of Central Australia. He was an artist and land rights activist, he is best know for designing and copyrighting the Australian Aboriginal Flag.

Thomas designed the flag in 1971 as a symbol of the Indigenous land rights movement. In 1995 the flag was made an official "flag of Australia". Later he was involved in a high-profile Federal and High Court cases to assert copyright over his design.
