Template:Infobox MLB retired Albert Thake (September 21 1849September 1, 1872) was an English professional baseball player who played Left field for the 1872 Brooklyn Atlantics.[1]

Al died on September 1, 1872, when he drowned off the coast of Fort Hamilton, New York while fishing. Teammate and Manager Bob Ferguson arranged a benefit game that day in his memory. The old Brooklyn Atlantics and Members of the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings played against each other in the benefit game.[2]
