Huangpu, or sometimes also called New Huangpu, is one of Shanghai's 18 districts. It was combined from old Huangpu and Nanshi districts in 2000 to form the New Huangpu with an area of 12.41 km².

Location

Huangpu is located in central Shanghai on the banks of Huangpu river, opposite to Pudong and bordering Suzhou river.

Attractions

Huangpu district is the most important shopping area of Shanghai including eastern section of the famous Nanjing Road. People's Square, Shanghai Grand Theater and Shanghai Exhibition Center are located in this district. Shanghai's most famous tourist attraction and historically important The Bund is also a part of Huangpu district.
