The Red Osier Dogwood, Cornus sericea, is a winter hearty species of dogwood commonly found in the northeastern and mid-western regions of North America.

Description

It is a medium to tall shrub, standing 7 to 10 feet in height and 10 to 15 feet in width, with dark red branches and twigs.

Leaf arrangement is opposite, 2" in length with an ovate to oblong shape that is 1 to 2½ inches wide. The flowers and fruits are dull white in color with clustered arrangements that are ¼ inch in diameter.
