Yamakita Station (山北駅, -eki) is a station located in southern Yamakita, Kanagawa, Japan.
Station layout
This station has one island platform and is operated by staffs of Matsuda Station.
History
- February 1 1889 Opened within establishing public railway between Kōzu Station and Shizuoka Station. Started handling freight and passenger services.
- November 12 1909 Became a station of Tōkaidō Main Line.
- December 1 1934 Became a station of Gotemba Line.
- May 15 1943 Yamakita Engine Center was abolished.
- March 31 1979 Discontinued freight services.
- April 1 1987 Along with privatization and division of JNR, Central Japan Railway Company started operating this station.
