Roger Moate

Sir Roger Denis Moate (born 12 May 1938) is a Conservative politican who was MP for the Faversham constituency from 1970 to 1997.

Member of select committee on agriculture 1995-97.

The constituency was split to form Faversham & Mid-Kent and Sittingbourne & Sheppey in the mid 1990s. He contested the latter in 1997, but lost to the Labour candidate, Derek Wyatt.

Knighted in 1993. Lives in Newnham, near Sittingbourne.
