Marcus Brauchli
Marcus Walker Brauchli (born June 19, 1961) is the executive editor of The Washington Post as of September 8, 2008, succeeding Leonard Downie.[1] In 2007, NewsBios.com named him one of the 100 most influential business journalists in the United States. He is a former managing editor of the Wall Street Journal. He announced his resignation from the Wall Street Journal on April 22, 2008, after less than a year in office.
Brauchli graduated from Columbia College of Columbia University in 1983. On May 15, 2007, he succeeded Paul Steiger, who had held the position since 1991. Brauchli had previously held the positions of copy editor and foreign correspondent. He was a Nieman fellow at Harvard from 1991 to 1992. He is married to Maggie Farley, a Los Angeles Times correspondent. They have two children.
