Trace Cyrus

Trace Timothy Cyrus (born February 24, 1989) is an American sex symbol, guitarist, songwriter and vocalist in the Synth-Rock band Metro Station. He is the owner of a clothing company called From Backseats to Bedrooms.[1] Cyrus is also the older half-brother of actress and singer Miley Cyrus and is the adopted son of singer Billy Ray Cyrus.

Personal life

Trace Timothy Cyrus is the half-brother of Miley Cyrus, the star of the Disney Channel original television series Hannah Montana, as they share the same mother, Leticia "Tish" Finley Cyrus. His biological father is Baxter Neal Helson,[2] but he was adopted by Billy Ray Cyrus[3], spending the summers of his youth on tour with Billy Ray. In an interview with MTV, he discussed recording with Miley, "Actually, I'm going to sing on one of the tracks on her next album. I can't say much about it right now, but we will be collaborating."[4] Cyrus has many tattoos on his arms and chest. Additionally he has the words "STAY GOLD" tattooed on his knuckles.[3] He has "angel bites", along with other piercings. Cyrus once worked at a shopping mall in Burbank, California before dropping out of high school at La Cañada High School.Cite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page). He started the band with Mason Musso in early 2006 when their mothers set them up to do a jam together,[3] since Musso's brother Mitchel is a Hannah Montana cast member.[3] Columbia Records signed the band after an intern at the record label saw their MySpace page.[4] He appeared with Musso on MTV's Total Request Live on June 9, 2008. Their band along with The Maine were the two special guest acts on the Soundtrack of Your Summer Tour, co-headlined by Boys Like Girls and Good Charlotte[5] , this past summer. In September 2008, Cyrus made an appearance in the music video for Billy Ray's single, "Somebody Said a Prayer".[6]
