Pomquet is a village in Nova Scotia, Canada.

This small acadien village is located in Antigonish County. It was founded between 1772-1774, by five acadien families. They were the Doirons, the Duons, the Broussards, the Vincents and the Lamarres. Most of the five French families were deported from Nova Scotia and P.E.I. They returned to Nova Scotia from France (most from Saint-Malo).

There are now an estimated 200-250 families that live in the Pomquet area.

École Acadienne de Pomquet

L'école Acadienne de Pomquet was built in 2001. There are more than 200 students from kindergarten to grade 12 that attend the school. The school is a member of the Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial (CSAP). The principal is Richard Marchand and vice-principal is Remi Deveau.
