Deportivo Alavés, usually abbreviated to Alavés, is a Spanish Segunda División football club based in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the Basque Country. Founded in 1921, it plays at the 19,500 seater Mendizorroza stadium.
The team's home kit is blue and white striped shirt, blue shorts and white socks. Alavés reached the UEFA Cup final in 2000-01, where they lost 5-4 to Liverpool. Although Alavés were relegated after 2003-04, they regained top flight status a year later.
In the 2005-06 season, they were relegated back to the second level.

Alavés B
Deportivo Alavés B is the filial team of Deportivo Alavés. Founded in 1958, it plays in Tercera División - Group 4, with home games being held at Instalaciones de Ibaia with a capacity of 2,500 seats.

California Victory
In 2007, Alavés operated a team in the USL First Division in the United States called the California Victory. The team played at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco, California, and wore the Alavés colors. However, Alavés, under new ownership, pulled its support for the club later that year, after which the Victory folded.
