Warning!
At present I am very busy in real life. I am best considered inactive on this wiki other than for issues linked to Commons & messages here may well not get a response for quite a while. I am still somewhat active on Commons and so you could try me there if it is a Commons matter. - Herby

Spam whitelisting

I proposed (well... echoed) an addition to the spam whitelist [[MediaWiki talk:Spam- whitelist#Official Flight of the Conchords Blog|here]]. It's one you've already responded to - any chance you could take a quick look and update? Cheers, Orpheus (talk) 03:50, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I really am effectively inactive here for now :(. --Herby talk thyme 09:01, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is relating to Independent International Investment Research article. Can we know why the article was deleted though we provided reason for its relevance and encyclopedic nature in its talk page.

User page deletion

It's unfortunate that you think my information is Blatant Advertisement.

However, that edit won't work for you this time Mr. herbythyme "Professorking (talk) 10:49, 2 October 2008 (UTC)"[reply]

Responded on rather un collaborative user's talk page.--Herby talk thyme 11:15, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Watch, Analyse, Understand and Decide action

I will appreciate if you follow these rules Sir.

Need clarification

I dont get it, the article on Crickees.com wasnt an advertisement piece, I have other places to do that. It was a description about the Game. How come then you allow Zapak.com and the other games as well man? After the website is launched people will probably search information regarding the game and thats the purpose of the article. Reconsider and get back to me, if you had taken your time to read the article you would have understood that the tone of neutrality was maintained throughout. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Norbertlincoln (talkcontribs) 11:26, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was an encyclopaedic article written in the form of an advertisement for the website (as was your user page). Thanks --Herby talk thyme 11:28, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was using my Userpage as a sandbox. It was an encyclopaedic article, meant for documenting the existence of the website. I have reworked the article. Check it out now.--Norbertlincoln (talk) 11:53, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well - as you can see another editor thinks it should be deleted although for a different reason on the rewrite. Let's see if it gets deleted. --Herby talk thyme 12:17, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed it. Tnank you.--Norbertlincoln (talk) 16:27, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Interactive coaching

Hi - just letting you know I've WP:SALTed the article, as the editor seems reluctant to give up. Regards, --Oscarthecat (talk) 13:17, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes - probably wise - they do seem a little persistent :) Thanks --Herby talk thyme 13:19, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your restoration of the content of User talk:Norbertlincoln

Hi. I noticed you restored material that had been blanked by Norbertlincoln from his own talk page. People are allowed to blank their user talk pages; when they remove a warning, it's interpreted as a sign that they've read it, and it remains viewable in the page's history.—Largo Plazo (talk) 12:31, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll not disagree with you although I do not see it quite as you do - it does rather depend on what, how, when to my mind. However if you look at the section above you will see I have interacted with that user. The page itself is far more accessible quickly than the history in case they decide to go on recreating things they have had deleted (which has been known to happen). Cheers --Herby talk thyme 13:15, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another User Page Deletion

I would like to start a page about Quality Care, The Nature Care Company, from Coralville, IA, but before even beginning, my user page was deleted. TruGreen Chem Lawn of ServiceMaster, a similar business in the area, has an untouched page. What is the difference here, and what makes an advertisement, rather than an informative page about the legacy of a business that has been serving its local community for over 25 years? QualityCare (talk) 14:45, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Page deletion

I have launched a new open source project on SIP testing and one person belonging to the company that sponsored the project, went on and created the page "sipper". I see that it is now deleted by you. I have no intention of any advertising through Wikipedia as I value the standards set by Wikipedia. I also do not want that if down the road when the some other bonafide user wants to create a page on this free software then he/she should face any issues. Let me know what can be done to re-create the page with useful content so that people can benefit from this information. Napoleon09 (talk) 16:10, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I did not create the page, but it was created for my project by someone. The page was titled "Sipper". Napoleon09 (talk) 16:46, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok that was tagged by another user as an advert & I agreed. It certainly was not an encyclopaedic entry. You can create something however bear in mind that it may be tagged for deletion by someone else. What is the relationship between you & user:Debashisrout please? --Herby talk thyme 17:17, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed that the content there was inappropriate and did look like an advert. The user user:Debashisrout works for the same company as I do but has no role in this open source project which is a separate entity. He created the page on his on volition (I would never have asked him to create such content that would be flagged right away). The question is that an entry would be tagged if it was previously deleted or purely on the merit or veracity of the contents. Napoleon09 (talk) 17:23, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:Hm2k

I prepared this for WP:COIN, but thought it would be better to find a less threatening approach given the other dispute he's in with me:

Has added links to a website that is identical to his username:

He was given a coi warning 09:58, 14 June 2008 by Herbythyme after restoring the link [1] in E-mail address.

Since then he restored the link in MagicISO on 12:22, 30 July 2008 after it was removed and was aware that his link in E-mail address remained when he edited the sentence containing the link on 11:09, 21 September 2008.

I couldn't find any new additions of the link, so I think it got through that he shouldn't be adding them. Maybe all he needs is a friendly reminder by someone other than myself? --Ronz (talk) 20:38, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just noticed your busy message. I'll sit on it if you don't reply, then take it to a regular at COIN or maybe an admin. --Ronz (talk) 00:22, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi & thanks for the message. Currently not quite keeping my head above water! I think you are correct & I think someone should have a word with the user. However I really don't like getting involved in something I can't be sure I will give full attention to so, if you can, do find someone else. If you get stuck then get back to me & I'll see what I can do. Cheers --Herby talk thyme 11:59, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
