Main Page error reports
To report an error you have noticed on the current Main Page or tomorrow's Main Page please add it to the appropriate section below. Errors can be fixed faster when a correction is offered, so please be specific. You can do this by pressing the [edit] button to the right of the appropriate section's heading. Also, please sign your post using four tildes (~~~~)
Note that the current date and time are in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which may not coincide with your local time zone. The next day's featured article of the day, picture of the day, and anniversaries update at midnight (00:00) according to UTC. The current time is 18:20 on October 26, 2024 (UTC). (Update)
Once an error has been fixed, the error report will be removed from this page; please check the page's history to verify that the error has been rectified and for any other comments the administrator may have made. Lengthy discussions should not take place here, and should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere.
References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error, and a suggested rewording is helpful with a stylistic complaint. The main page usually defers to supporting pages when there is disagreement, so it is best to achieve consensus and make any necessary changes there first.

Marine Barracks Main Page summary says that 241 Marines were killed. This total actually includes Marines and US Army personnel supporting their mission. 138.162.128.54 (talk) 03:57, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- It also includes 18 U.S. Navy personnel, according to the article. So I made it 241 U.S. servicemen. Art LaPella (talk) 06:07, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
The Smurfs
Shouldn't the Smurfs be in bold, instead of Peyo? The anniversary is that the first time the Smurfs were seen, not that Peyo made them appear, right? --Soetermans | is listening | what he'd do now? 09:08, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- If you read it in edit mode, it says "''[[The Smurfs]]''<!--Not bolded, tagged for cleanup, {{refimprove}}-->." Art LaPella (talk) 13:46, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- See also the second paragraph of Wikipedia:FAQ/Main Page#I think that the articles listed on the Main Page are awful. Isn't the Main Page biased towards certain topics? What can be done about it?. In the Smurfs example, it is a compromise between those who strictly follow the guidelines that only the bolded articles on the Main Page should be well written articles, and those who like seeing the 50th, 100th, etc. anniversary of something. Cheers. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 15:31, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Reporters: please first correct the regular version.

Follow-up and old items
This holding area is for items that require follow-up (for example, a general point that needs to be raised elsewhere), or for items that haven't been dealt with but where the topic under discussion is no longer on the Main Page. The items listed here should eventually be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as:
- Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article
- Template talk:In the news
- Wikipedia talk:Did you know
- Wikipedia talk:Selected anniversaries
- Wikipedia talk:Picture of the day
