Your RFA
First off, its good that you want to become an administrator, but i think you should read the guidelines, and make sure that you qualify. I saw your total edit count, and it does not look like you would get much support. Some will say that you need more experience... Im telling you this so you can withdraw your nomination. You can get more experience and reapply in a month or two. →Journalist >>talk<< 17:36, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
- (After edit conflict). Adam, I notice you're attempting to self-nominate for adminship, and having difficulties doing so. That this is so should be immediately indicative of something. I would have second Journalist and suggest that you remove your attempted nomination yourself, to save you the embarrassment of having someone else do so. Your Rfa has very little, if any, chance of succeding; you've been registered too short a time, you haven't edited enough, and you blank your talk page. You appear to be a good editor; spend some more time on Wikipedia and gain some more experience before nominating, and you'll like be supported. Sincerely, --Cyberjunkie | Talk 17:42, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
I still would like to apply to become an admin. I want a rollback button to help me remove vandalism and to be able to warn people that vandalise and if they keep doing it ban them.
I would also like to suggest a ban from editing pages for people that after a warning continue to vandalise, If there is not already one.
- To be ready for administrator priveleges, the general consensus is that one should be very familiar with Wikipedia. Until then, you can still be a great editor! Start by reading the pages linked in the welcome above; I've found that reading such pages, in conjunction with observing how others edit and how featured articles look, is a great way to become a better editor. Adam, I removed your nomination transclusion from the main page per the new instructions because none of the necessary info was filled in. You can answer the questions at this page:Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Adam1213, if you wish. However, I will repeat Journalist, Cyberjunkie, and DDerby's sentiments, and say that you have a very, very low chance (probably none) of having a successful RfA. You only have ~ 150 edits despite registering in May. If you still want to continue, add the following to the appropriate Wikipedia:Requests for adminship section: {{Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Adam1213}} ----
. If you have any other questions, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Regards, Bratschetalk | Esperanza 21:27, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
Reverting me
Adam, I'm sorry to say that your RfA has no chance of passing. You should not keep it running, and by reverting my removal of it to save you from the criticisms and bordered attacks, you may get the community to dislike you. I'll remove it again, and if you put it back, I won't revert, but I'm warning you for your own sake. Redwolf24 (talk) 02:06, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
clearing off conversations
Hello Adam, perhaps you'd want to make yourself familiar with the Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. When you like to clear your talk page off, why don't you archive comments (like mine) rather than remove them, especially if you leave them without a reply. Sincerely - Introvert talk 03:37, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
- By removing only part of my comment [1] you changed the context of what was left completely. Please just archive your talk page if it's too full. --JoanneB 10:32, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
Hi Adam, see the message JIP left on my talk page, he replied to your question. Also a couple of nice links you might want to check:
- Wikipedia:Vandalism --> about warning the vandals and using templates to do so
- Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism --> report vandals there, admins watch that page and will block the user if they agree with you.
- Wikipedia:How to archive a talk page
