Welcome to the Zone of Bob, Lord of Bob. Actually, that's really, really lame. Anyway, I do have things to do. double majoPlans. Evil plots to improve my Wikipedia lore for all to see (at least, all who research the War of 1812 to see).

About me

As for who I am? Well, I'm a writing/history undergraduate at the University of Victoria in Victoria, BC, which makes me less than qualified compared to most of the contributors around here. This fills me with shame, but I do know a thing or two, and in spaces where there are holes, I intend to fill them (when I feel like it). After all, a little bit of knowledge is better than none at all.

Unless the knowledge is stupid. Then, you know, BALEETED! and so forth. If you care about some of my Wikibeliefs, read my statement about extreme inclusionism of people, and a little remindier for those whose useless little pages are threatened on AfD.

Amazingly, my user page has only been vandalized once. Can you believe it?

Random Me Music Trivia

My favourite band is Pink Floyd, my favourite solo artist Peter Gabriel, my favourite ex-Beatle Paul McCartney. The first band I ever saw in concert was the Dixie Chicks, who I loathe. There's probably a lesson there somewhere.

The greatest album ever created is either Floyd's The Wall or Genesis's Foxtrot. I firmly and eternally believe that Phil Collins is a skilled drummer and nothing else. The most underrated instrument in rock and roll is the saxophone, the most overrated bass. I like a good solid drum solo now and then, because I'm insane.

I don't know what the best song is, but A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum is, considering the era, the most extraordinary song ever.

I like extraordinarily few original albums released after 1990 (I can currently think of one that I would take to the desert island with me). I felt great shame when I heard Drops of Jupiter by the staggeringly mediocre band Train and liked it, although I felt better when I heard that it was just a rip-off of some rejected Rolling Stones riff. I don't know if that's true, but I sure as heck hope it is.

Things I've Already Done

I decided to completely scrap this section because it was largely out of date, I know what I've done, anybody with the patience to wade through my contributions can find out what I've done, and I can't possibly see when anybody's going to say, "Gee, I wonder what sorts of articles Lord Bob has contributed significantly to."

Still, I have a general interest in ice hockey, Canadian history (particularly the War of 1812), and Canadian Forces articles, as well as occaisonal literature and other sports contributions. I like and know classic rock a lot but never write about it. I don't know why. I also hang around VfD a lot, working to purge the wiki of things that suck. If you see me, say hi! (well, don't really, that'll clutter things up something terrible, but thinking it is fine).

Useless Miscellany

Any questions? Comments? Address them to my talk page! Somebody once edited this page to make a comment and I didn't see it until much after it had been edited. This made me feel bad.

Also, if you're much compelled to, visit my godawful website at http://www.benmassey.ca where my random thoughts are posted from time to time, extremely rarely, and so incredibly seldom in an interesting-to-read format that you really have no reason to go. That was a shameless plug, wasn't it?

Someday, I am determined to make this user page not stupid. Then again, I'm still determined to write a detailed and in-depth article on every Canadian Halifax-class frigate. So there's a long queue when it comes to my determination.
