Adlington (Cheshire) railway station serves the village of Adlington in Cheshire.

It was manned for many years but is now unstaffed. The station building is now privately owned and there is no ticket machine due to it being removed.

According to Network Rail's route utilisation strategy Adlington is in the top 50 least used station with on average 0.9 person using each train, up by 0.4 on the previous year. This means that approximately 42 people use the station a day on weekdays with 37 on a Saturday and 6 on a Sunday.Despite this, almost every service calls at the station including the hourly Macclesfield - Deansgate Service.

History

Opened by the London and North Western Railway, it became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway during the Grouping of 1923. The line then passed on to the London Midland Region of British Railways on nationalisation in 1948. When Sectorisation was introduced, the station was served by Regional Railways until the Privatisation of British Railways.
