Nandamuri Balakrishna (Template:Lang-te) (born June 10 1960) is a notable Tollywood actor. He is the son of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Tollywood actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. He is famously known as Balayya and called by his fans.

Balakrishna was born in Madras (now known as Chennai), Tamil Nadu, to Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and Smt Basavatarakam. Balakrishna has seven brothers Late Rama Krishna, Jaya Krishna, Hari Krishna, Mohana Krishna, Sai Krishna, Jr Rama Krishna, Jaya Shankar Krishna, and four sisters Smt Uma Maheswari, Smt Bhuvaneswari, Smt Lokeswari, Smt Purandheswari. He is married to Vasundhara Devi and has one son Mokshagna Teja and two daughters Brahmani and Tejaswini. He started his film career as a child artist in his fathers movie tatammakala. He has acted in social,devotional,sofio fantasy and mythological films.

Early life

Balakrishna is son of Late Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and Smt Late Basavatarakam belongs.He has been acting since from his childhood.

He entered cine field as a child artist.Even though entered the film industry because of his father, later his hard work, discipline, talent and dedication made him stand in the industry. He had been acting in movies for the past 27 years. He is a simple person and likes to stay away from publicity. He acted in a movie called annadammula anubandham, a remake of Dharmendra's hindi hit yadonki barat at the age of 16.
He got his first commercial break as Hero with 'Mangamma Gari Manavadu'. Bhargava Arts and Kodi Rama Krishna are responsible for the elevation of Hero image for Balaiah in the early days.He had acted in 4 Golden Jubilee movies produced under the Bhargav Arts (producer Sri. S. Gopala Reddy) banner. .Balayya is famous for his roles in the movies made with village backdrop. He is famous for his mythological roles. Another milestone in the career of NBK is 'Muddula Mavaiah' from the makers of MGM. But the director who made NBK look invincible is B Gopal. Rowdy Inspector had set the cash registers ringing in 1992 summer. Though he is known for ferocious acting, he too had played soft roles and got the appreciation from all and sundry. Three immaculate classics of NBK career are 'Naari Naari Naduma Muraari' , 'Aditya369' and 'Bhairava Dweepam'.

Junior NTR, a notable actor in telugu film industry is a family relative to Nandamuri Balakrishna.

During the year of 1993 only two of his movies were released and surprisingly both of them were released on the same day. This is a rare event in south indian film industry.

SamaraSimha Reddy is the pinnacle of success for NBK.This film broke many existing records and also had created new records.

Balayya struck the chord immediately with another blockbuster movie Narasimha Naidu. Interestingly both this films were made on faction backdrop.

Despite many flops balayya enjoys considerable fan base in Andhra Pradesh, thanks to his legendary father Sri NTR.

Controversy

Post release of movie Lakshmi Narasimha, an unfortunate incident took place at balayya's residence. In inebriated condition balayya allegedly shot the film's producer Bellamkonda Suresh and his aide Satyanarayana Rao. Balayya was admitted to hospital for mental instability and post incident trauma. Doubts arised once again when balayya house's night watchman was brutally murdered at this residence. Fans of balayya were shocked with these series of incidents at his residence.

Recent Developments

Balayya is facing rough period in film industry now. All his recent movies bombed at the box office. His fans are eagely waiting for him to strike the chord. His fans openly criticised him for poor choice of stories.Balayya has also set the stage for a grand entry into politics. Some of the political analysts say that it is because of the poor performance of his recent movies he is compelled to make an entry into politics.
