BC Jean

BC Jean is an American singer-songwriter and pop/rock singer, best known for co-writing the Beyoncé hit single If I Were A Boy.

If I Were A Boy Controversy

If I Were A Boy was first featured in media press in August 2008 on popular music industry site Crazed Hits[1], as a feature for BC Jean. When the song was released by Beyonce in October, Fox News ran a story stating that Beyonce stole the song from Jean,[2] who co-wrote the song with producer Toby Gad. Even though Gad did not play a major role in its composition, he sold the song to Knowles without Jean's permission. Jean was unaware that Knowles recorded the track. Neither Jean nor Gad have released statements concerning this matter.
