Roshanak (روشنک in Persian) is a traditional Persian name for female. This name has several meanings such as; "lovely flare", "little star", "luminous beauty".

This name was the name of a Persian princess who was Darius III of Persia's daughter and the official wife of Alexander the great (Roxana in Greek). It is also the name of Dara's daughter (Dara is a character in Shahnama).The name Roxanne is an English variant of this name, variants include, Roxane and Roxanne. Diminutives are Roxie and Roxy.Rokh-sána meaning "beautiful".This name is still popular and in common use in today's Iran.
