Story
The imaginative world of ROSE Online consists of 7 unique planets. Each planet has its own set of particular environments and characteristics. Interplanetary explorers will enjoy many different adventure scenarios that these worlds have to offer.
Gameplay
Gameplay mostly consists of killing monsters and earning items from them. There are three types of inventory: Equipment, which you can outfit your character in to enhance their abilities, Attrition which are consumable items for HP/MP/Stamina regeneration as well as various magical items such as the "summoning capsules", and the ETC inventory which covers general miscellany. It includes materials for crafting, valuable gems and ammunition for weapons that need them. You can sell these items to an NPC or to another player for money.
Alternatives to walking include the Tuning system, a Cart or a Castle Gear. Cart:
Castle Gear In Action:
War On Planetary Scale
Players can form groups and compete for dominion over the seven planets. Unlike a small scale war, such as a guild war in which players fight for the possession of castles, players can take part in a huge war in which the fate of an entire planet is at stake.
Once you become the king of a planet, you will have political and economic authority as ruler of that planet's government. The one who can put all 7 planets under his control will become the most powerful force in the world.
1st Jobs
Visitor: This is the job everyone starts with. At level 10 you can start a quest to become a muse, soldier, dealer, or hawker. Visitors can remain visitors as long as they like, but cannot use any special skills.
Muse: The Muse uses magic attacks and/or healing and enchanting people with magic. This branches out into the secondary class of a Mage or Cleric.
Soldier: The Soldier is a melee/ranged fighter which focuses on offense or defense. This branches out into the secondary class of a Knight or Champion.
Dealer: Dealers are good at turning money into strength, can summon warriors and/or craft items using various materials found throughout the Seven Planets. This branches out into the secondary class of a Artisan or Bourgeois.
Hawker: Hawkers are fast characters that are hard to hit and can use long distance bows or close range weapons, such as katars. This branches out into the secondary class of a Scout or Raider.
2nd Jobs
After becomming at least level 70 and completing a quest, each of the four jobs can become one of two new jobs.
Mage (Magician): Muses who can use offensive magic and summons whilst wielding a staff or wand. Mages are very good at Player-versus-Player combat, since spells rarely miss and few characters have substantial amounts of magic defense. The Mage has the strongest area of effect spells, but is in the most danger using them given their relatively low defense and the large number of monsters soon to be attacking the Mage.
Cleric: Muses is a specialist in enchating people and responsible for most of the healing. Dexterity-based Clerics are Clerics that use dexterity based weapons and their enchantments to kill monsters by themselves. Support Clerics only focus on making their healing spells and enchantments stronger and mostly dependant on parties to level. Support Clerics usually use wands and either special Muse Shields or slotted shields which are gemmed with Intelligence-adding Topazes.
Knight: The Knight is a soldier focusing on defensive skills, almost always using a one-handed weapon and a shield. Knights usually use area of effect skills, depending on their high defense to do it safely. There are also bowgun (Crossbow) Knights that use a ranged weapon and a shield, but these are very rare because there are few bowgun builds.
Champion: Champions are soldiers who focus mostly on offensive skills, so they will almost always use two handed close combat weapons such as Spears, Axes and Two-handed Swords. Champions excel at destroying single enemies such as bosses, but cannot effectively take damage of (or "tank") multiple enemies at once.
Artisan: Artisans can craft equipment, Carts, Castle Gears, can cut gems, and upgrade equipment, as well as separating gems from socketed items and disassembling various items into the materials needed for their craft. Artisans use two sets of equipment, one for fighting with a gun or cannon, and one to craft. Artisans are the only job that can make gems, which are very valuable, so many artisans earn a lot money. Because most artisans prefer to use as many crafting skills as possible instead of fighting skills, they often focus on speed to accommodate their high chance to inflict "critical hits."
Bourgeois: Bourgeois (often known as "Bourgs") are all about money. Zuly Bolt is a popular Bourgeois skill which costs money to cast. Bourgs are also known for their strong mercenary summons, which also cost money to use. Most Bourgs use cannons instead of guns, but both require expensive ammo. To offset these costs Bourgs almost universily invest in the Stockpile passive skill, which increases the number of items (Also known as "stacks") they receive per item drop and therefore allows them to earn more items to sell. There are also skills that reduce NPC vendor prices and let them sell items for more money to NPC.
Scout: Hawkers who prefer using bows can advance to the Scout job, who specialize in delivering death from afar with various bow skills, capable of stunning enemies or slowing them down. Scouts may also summon a powerful Hawk to help defeat enemies.
Raider: Raiders are the advanced class preferred by Hawkers who use claws and dual weapons, capable of inflicting fast and fatal blows. Raiders specialize in assassination and are capable of using stealthy, quick movements and devastating skills such as a Screw Attack and various shurikens.
