The article said that the temple was excavated in 1889-86 by E. Penrose. I assume time didn't run backwards in the late 19th century, so I did a search for "Olympieion Penrose" (without the quotes) on Google, and got three hits, all of which agree on 1889-86, presumably having been blindly copied from one another. Does anyone know the correct dates? --Zundark, 2001 Nov 9


This may seem like an obvious question, but while we're at it *where was it*? "Greece" is a big place. Was it in Athens, Corinth, Rhodes, what? -- Paul Drye November 9/01
