Ten Ton Chicken is a jam band out of Berkeley, California. Their music blends psychedelia, progressive, funk, and rock. The band has played hundreds of concerts through the western United States.

History and Discography

Ten Ton Chicken formed in 1998. The original lineup featured Rich Dibenedetto on drums, Eric Kampman on keyboard bass, Nick Peck on keyboards, and Gary Morrell on guitar. Eric Kampman left in 2000 and was replaced by Tom Fejes on bass. Also joining at the same time was Jamison Smeltz on saxophone. Nick Peck left soon after the release of Just Like in Old Country. He was replaced by Greg Sankovitch.

They have released three CDs:

  • De Cocksdorp (1999) (difficult to find)
  • Just Like in the Old Country (2001)
  • In Search Of (2003)
