The Pincunche (mapudungun "North People") were a sedentary people living to the north of the "mapuche" or Araucanian people, and south of the Diaguitas. They had a medium advanced culture. They grew corn and potatoes, and lived in wooden houses. They were under Inca domination when the first Spaniards arrived in Chile.
